"Very NIce..."4.0 starson by eventis
Pros: build quility - looks - sound
Cons: none to speak of
Summary: I wanted to give these a few months of listening prior to review...
I listen to varying musical genres, jazz, hard rock, r & b, singer-song-writer, etc., and these perform well with all.
-- The build quality is excellent. Nothing else to say other than, very well made.
-- Sound quality is great as well. ( I use these with a Creative Vision M )They do create a "sound-stage" that others have mentioned, at least more so than the miriad of others I have heard.
Not being a audiophile, these to me sound "balanced". That is to say, highs, mid's and bass all come together without that "fight" that I've often experienced with others.
I really like the fact that I can listen to 1950's Coltrane jazz and subsequently jump to 1970's Rainbow rock, then go to 2000's J.Legend without having to adjust my equalizer.
The single-driver nature of these does offer limitations. Not that that's a bad thing, because no other single's that I've heard are equal.
Are they the best in-canal-buds I've ever heard...? No. But I can honestly say I can think of no other that I'd rather have under $200. (you can find them online for, I think $80 or less now) They do however remain my daily choice. (live in the city ((Chicago)) and ride the "el" everyday, and my riding companions never ask me to "turn it down")
-- These are handsome. I can't tell you how many people who have asked me "what are those"? Though, very compact in size. Smaller than any factory provided bud.
-- These fit very well. V-moda provides not only 3 different sizes of "attachment buds fittings" to ensure a perfect fit, but do so in multiple colors.
The overall weight is a non-factor. When in your ear for more than 15 seconds, you will forget that you're wearing them.
-- And best of all...THEY"RE NOT WHITE!
I rate these an 8 because when I plug these into my home system, some clarity is lost.
