"Great headphones... for a couple of months"
Pros: Comfortable, good sound quality for the price
Cons: Construction highly prone to breaking after moderate use
Summary: I was very pleased with these earbuds when I received them. Great sound for the price, easy fit, stylish appearance. But they are not a good purchase for an active user.
After less than two months of use the base of the chord started to pull apart causing a short in one ear. I assumed it was a defective pair and had V-moda exchange them.
After 6 weeks with the replacement pair the same thing occurred, and after the next replacement it happened again after 3 months. I presume this is due to the strain caused by regular use when running/exercising.
V-Moda should be commended for replacing each pair, but I have no reason to believe the next pair will fare any better - and the hassle associated with the exchange is certainly not worth it. Find a different brand if you like to use your headphones when exercising (as a point of reference, I never had any issues using standard iPod headphones).

21 days, 3rd pair... I had the plastic one, but the cord covered one broke as well... I dont even use them for running! if the durability of their headphones were better I would definitely recommend them for the comfort and sound quality they already give... (is wearing the one side of the headphones that works...)

Was it the old or the new headphones? Because they changed the cord from plastic to a chord made out of string and they changed the design of the connector from being straight to almost an L-shaped connector.

I had exactly the same issues. I loved the sound and the comfort but the durability was lacking.

Yes these headphone are sublime for recreational use and not active. The only problem i have had with these headphones was the metal sleeve at the base of the headphones has become loose and i can slide it around but it is nothing that some krazy glue can't solve. Also so of my friends have commented on how they fit in the ear. i personally have small ear canals and with the small ear bud i hardly notice them.

I bought mine at costco...I am on my third pair in about 10 months...they dont hold up 4 the price
