"A bargain for 60 bucks!!!"
Pros: Great sound and better design than most.
Cons: Non yet, time will prove durability.
Summary: I have the gunmetal gray, and I have to tell you, since these headphones have come down under $70, they are hard to beat for sound quality. I have a Ipod, and I use the on board equalizer which some say is useless, but if you play with it you will find some of the settings can really offset a set of headphones characteristics. These head phones have one of the lowest ratings going down to 12db, and up to 22.000! I have switched to "voice" setting on my IPOD's equalizer, which brings up the upper mid and lowers the bass a bit. This setting has yielded a very balanced and very pleasing sound. I listen to tons of progressive jazz and The Rippington's early smooth hit 'One Summer Night In Brazil' was reproduced with lots of richness and weight. Several cuts from Paul Hardcastle's Jazz Master Series. which are known for heavy bass lines, sounded as good as I have ever heard on a pair of headphones! The first time i listened to the V-Moda's I was in an outdoor mall that had music playing from the ground. I was amazed at how much outdoor sound was isolated from my ears. All I could hear was music!
One of the things that has always irritated me with in ear headphones is managing wax buildup. I love the open design of these headphones! Take them off..give a quick finger wipe, and that's it! No tiny holes to clean out with some special tool! I have spent as much as a Buck 50 on headphones. None sounded any better than these. If you can get a year out of them before the wires go bad or something else..... you can't complain! Just go buy another pair.
