  • "Beware of Blueant"
    on by dompang888

    Pros Not Applicable.

    Cons Not Applicable.

Summary I do not own this product, but I wish to warn potential buyers that I shipped a Q1 headset to Blueant to Australia for repair. FedEx confirmed receipt, but Blueant ignored all my email inquires for over 5 months, essentially, I paid good money for my unit, close to 100 USD at the time, which I used for two weeks, and Blueant wouldn't return it to me or even admit they got it.

    Do not trust this company.

  • "it stopped working it is junk, dont waste your $"
    on by wuzafan

Pros clear voice quality, when it worked

Cons it failed, it does not work, dont buy it. also, the on / off switch is hard to operate.

Summary initially swayed by the quality appearance, it turned out to be junk, expensive junk

  • "Good sound quality. Cheap material."
    on by jhbx88

Pros connected seamlessly, stayed connected and provided decent quality sound with no complaints from callers.

Cons Voice commands seldom worked. The over the ear pieces is terrible and cheaply made.

Summary Had the over the ear piece not broken each time upon mounting it to the device I would have surely been satisfied with the device. As it is, it was a huge wasted of my time!! I don't know how it was ranked in the "best of" list on CNET.

  • "There are MUCH better bluetooth on the market!"
    on by BCARTERTechGeek

    Pros Voice commands
    Comfortable Fit

    Cons Range
Cuts in and out making conversation impossible
BlueAnt Software causes phone to reboot
Caller-ID by name MOST of the time gives the wrong name
BlueAnt's only answer to ANY tech complaint is to reset and re-pair

Summary I bought this bluetooh based on the features set and the supposed ability of the bluetooth to filter out background and wind noise. It fails at both background and wind noise cancellation. People on the other end FREQUENTLY (like every other call) tell me I am cutting out and they are missing whole words. When I'm out in the wind (light wind 10 - 15 mph) callers say I am unintelligible and I have to go to the handset to finish the conversation. The BlueAnt software is buggy at best and causes my phone to reboot itself at least once a day when I have had the bluetooth off and then turn it back on and it connects.

This bluetooth has the POOREST range of any bluetooth I've ever owned. I've owned the LOWEST in the line of Plantronics bluetooths ($39 price range) and they have performed better. With this bluetooth, if I want to stream audio I have to pretty much clip the phone to my shirt collar on the same side of my body as my bluetooth. If I want to have a phone conversation, I have to have the phone within about 24" (NOT FEET) of the bluetooth on the same side of the body as the bluetooth, otherwise callers complain my sound is scratchy and cuts out. Now, if the caller has a rough signal and their audio is a bit off or if my phone has 3 out of 5 bars signal, the thing is COMPLETELY useless!

The design and features of the bluetooth are nice...with a rocker volume control and voice control of your bluetooth, including being able to answer or reject calls by voice, I thought this was going to be an awesome product. Unfortunately, it's been anything but! Their antenna on the product is SUPER tiny and in the TOP of the device, so you effectively have the device itself between the antenna and your phone.

This is a replacement for the first Q2 that had the same poor performance. No improvement in this second one was noticed at all. I do not see myself purchasing BlueAnt products in the future. It seems they put all of their time and talent into neat features and very little thought is given to actual function and usability.

In contrast, my Jawbone ICON HD performs flawlessly with the same phone. While it doesn't have the neat voice control capabilities, I prefer it over the Q2 by FAR.

BlueAnt's only solution is to re-set and re-pair with your phone...which fixes nothing, including mis-identification of incoming callers from your contacts.

  • "Only BT that works with iPhone 5 or iOS6"
    on by rightmuch

    Pros Load & clear, comfortable.

    Cons none so far

Summary After going through 3 Plantronics Legends, a Voyager HD pro, and a Jawbone Era, I finally found this headset, recommended by an Apple rep. It is light, comfortable, and clear as bell on both ends of a call. The plantronics and jawbones, all had serious call quality issues despite firmware updates. This one is terrific.
