Summary I bought this pair because I lost my the last one. The first pair was the last generation and did not have the stay flanges that this pair has, but other than that, they are the same. I read most of the review before I bought my first pair, and again before I bought this replacement pair. I don't understand the complaints I see on here, the number one complaint is about bass, I can say that as a person that predominantly listens to r&b, blues and jazz, this pair is outstanding. Now do you get as much bass as a Beatz audio, no you don't, and if bass is all you are looking for, than you should not be looking at Bose. Now for the rest of us that like to listen to the music and not simply feel our eardrums bleed, this pair is just for you.
Comfort - Originally bought these in Afghanistan, and I must say that I would spend hours with these in my ears and I would never get the pain that comes from wearing in-ear headphones. These are the only headphones I have ever been able to sleep with comfortably and not wake up with a terrible ear ache. Working on an airfield, if I wanted to get some rest I needed to drown out the noise, which these did a good job of.
Sound - This is a pro and a con, so I will address the good here. The range of musical notes you can hear with these headphones is ridiculous, now the ear pieces are not 'in ear" per say, they do not go in your ear canal, they cover the ear hole, so with that being said, I wear a medium with most in ear headphone, but have to wear the small ear piece to get a good "seal".
Quality - You can immediately tell these are good, solid quality, I am not sure what some of the other reviewers were talking about when they said theirs frayed after wear, I used mine traveling in UH-60s, CH-47s and C130s in full military gear for 12 months, in and out of vehicles with them hanging to my side and not once did they fray or get damaged, I did manage to lose a few of the end pieces, but I ordered extras from Bose for 8 dollars.
Sound - The volume is not ear shattering, I will say that at the loudest you will only be about 80% of what other headphones give you, with that said if you are looking to blow out your eardrums these are not for you. Also with the sound all the way up, there is no distortion in sound, which I think might be a reason why the volume doesn't go up as high as other headphones.
Cord - The cord on this second pair is much shorter than my last one, Im not sure if it is just cost saving measures or what, but at 6 feet tall I can still my iPhone in my pocket and the cord barely reaches my ears, so if you are taller you might need an arm band holder.

Pros I get scared every time I go to put on music in the library because I think its coming from my laptop. They are very comfortable and disperse pressure so they feel almost non-existent. The sound is amazing, sounds like it comes from full speakers.
Cons The price is a bit extreme, but it is definitely worth it if you want to make an investment.
Summary Bottom line, one of the best investments I've ever made (for the $130 dollar headphones and the $20 dollar protection plan, Best Buy). I was amazed when i played the first song, and I am continuously amazed every time I use them. Extremely comfortable, don't come out when you run, you can't hear them from more than 6 inches away if you aren't wearing them. Alltogether, fantastic product.
Pros Secure fit for exercise. inline buttons feel solid. Mic is clear. Non-sound isolating allows for situational awareness. Great sound after EQ tweaking.
Cons Pricey. Heavy on bass: EQ settings in iPhone4 (settings/ipod) fixed the sound it to my liking.. Case has no cable management.
Summary Best earbuds that I've found for workouts. Tons better than standard iphone earbuds & much better than the apple sound isolating earbuds which I could never get to stay in while running and exaggerate the sound of breathing. Stayhear tips have a rock solid fit in the ear while exercising even when sweaty. They don't completely isolate you from the real world which is a plus for situational awareness.. Inline Mic works great, allows you to use voice control on Iphone4.
Pros -Bass is deep and rounded, I REALLY enjoyed the listening experience, though that's just my taste.
-Really comfortable, I have average sized ears and had no problems finding a fitting to suit.
-iPhone functionality is fantastic.
Cons -Cable quality isn't awesome: Susceptible to significant strain near the fittings (remote and earpieces), as the cable is so soft, bending leads to cracks in the cable insulation.
Summary Really great sounding earphones. I found them to be perfect for taking calls, using Siri, and enjoying a range of music.
Less than a year and I had to put electrical-tape at the joints. I was taking good care of them too, so it's not just cable neglect! Really disappointed that after a year I'm having to get some new earphones.
I might give the MIE2i's another go, but I'm also considering the Klipsch Image S4i II which have just come out and look pretty good.
Pros Excellent sound quality as expected from Bose. The Secure fit really means what it said. It fits in my ears comfortably. I was so amazed with the bass when I played the first song. An excellent headphone for my iPhon4 with all the nice features.
Cons A bit pricey as much as I enjoyed it.
Summary Best headphone I've ever had and truly enjoy every minute of it !
