"As good or better than the 500...and works with Treo!"
Pros: Simple, effective button layout; clarity good; noise-canceling technology; long battery life; pairs simultaneously with multiple phones; lightweight; carrying case included, great price
Cons: a little uncomfortable until you get the earhook bent just right for your ear; (like many others) you have to power it back on after charging; that's about it.
Summary: I had searched high and low for a unit that would work with my Treo 650 and finally zeroed in on the Scala 500. It worked beautifully but I recently lost it. So...back to the search. The Scala 700 works perfectly (as perfectly as Treo will let it) with the phone. It has your typical static every once in a while but it connects FAST for calls and has excellent volume & clarity. The piece is lighter than the 500 and the button layout is the same as the 500 and Cardo has added the ability to keep the headset paired continuously with multiple phones...a nice touch if you and your spouse are sharing the unit. A very simple neoprene case is included and comes in very handy for people who are prone to losing things (ahem) or burying them in their pockets where they can be damaged.
The headset even has a locator feature so you can page it from your bluetooth phone.
All in all, this is the best headset I have tried with Treo and can recommend it emphatically! As a bonus, it sells for a very reasonable price for the feature-set it offers, especially considering the cost of the other units I mention below that didn't work well with Treo.
Note: I purchased mine from an online vendor. The unit I was sent was defective...people had difficulty hearing me while I heard them perfectly...I asked him for an exchange and I was told simply that this device was incompatible with Treo...I spoke with Cardo and they said of course it works with Treo and sent me a replacement which works perfectly as stated above. Don't let anyone steer you away from this unit if you have a Treo.
Previously tested and failed devices:
Motorola H500, 750, 700
Jabra 150
Plantronics Discovery 640
Treo headset by Treo (no joke...didn't work...made by Jabra)
Logitech Mobile Traveller (ouch!!!)
Samsung WEP200 (ACTUALLY WORKED...I just prefer an earhook)

Thank you, Thank you. I had the 500 as well and was concerned if the 700 was up to the 500 standard. If it will work with a Treo, it will work with anything. I now have the PPC-6700 so I will know soon enough.

I totally agree with this reviewer. I've owned 2 Cardo Scala 500 (first one chewed by the dog) and now the Cardo Scala 700, and have used both with the Treo 650 and the Treo 700p. The 700 has great features and is clear, though my friends say not quite as clear as the 500. No problems with fit or the ear loop as mentioned in the review.
Also important is that Cardo Systems has excellent customer service. They've sent new "necklace cradles" for the 500 (twice) and replaced the 500 when the seal holding the speaker to the body of the unit broke.
