"Comfortable and functional finally!"
Pros: Feels great in the ear, unobtrusive, great design, works with Skype
Cons: Distance not quite 30 feet
Summary: I recently purchased my Flamingo, it was easy to pair with my Motorola Razor. Within 5 minutes I had dropped the annoying wire based headset, (and in my opinion lethal) which came with the phone.
The unit is very slick, it clicks into the ear (where it stays even if I shake my head) but it does not block the ear so I can still hear what people are saying around me.
I bought the silver version as it goes great with my Razor (I am a sucker for cool gadgets) but apart from the good looks I must say that a wireless headset is really functional for a road warrior such as me.
One of my pet issues with driving and being in the phone is that you cant operate any other controls and it is a hassle looking over your shoulder when changing lanes or turning. Using a wire based headset helps but I recently almost got into an accident when the wire was caught in the turn signal arm while I was making a right hand turn.
After that I decided to get a wireless version so this is my 1st experience with Bluetooth. After finding out that my Mac has Bluetooth build in I started using my Flamingo with Skype as well and it works great!
My only issue is that it seems that the Bluetooth protocol is a little unstable or immature, the 30 feet is actually only 10 feet when I use my phone, and 20 feet with my Mac?
Also when I am outside and it is very windy, people have a hard time hearing what I say.
Other than that it is a free feeling being wireless, the unit sits very comfortably in my ear, I can wear sunglasses without the headset being in the way and I can drive my car without getting caught-up in wires. Well worth the investment.
