Pros: There is a way around the plug problems
Cons: none to add
Summary: The problems with other MP3 players seem to be caused, as the editors say, by the fourth conductor area on the plug. This makes the headphones sensitive to exactly where the MP3 player has its ground connection contact.
If you really like the headphones (and for $179 you must or you would have returned them) you or a tech-savvy friend can make a short adapter cord which connects all but the mike channel to a standard 3 conductor plug. I don't know of any such adapters ready-made, but they might exist.
You won't see me wearing them, since I would end up with an ear infection even if I could tolerate the intrusive ear fit. But that is personal.
One other thing to keep in mind when comparing them to other options: noise isolating or noise blocking means it physically keeps the ambient noise out, while noise cancelling means that active electronics is used to generate a signal in the earphones that is the exact opposite of any leakage that comes around or through the earphone or earbud. Some product literature and even some reviews are not clear about what you are getting. Especially if a vague term like "noise reducing" is used.

Cool it, Andre. The original reviewer didn't write that noise isolation was better or worse than noise canceling, only that they were different and a potential buyer should be aware of the difference. His description of the difference was accurate. He also said that in-the-ear fit is a personal thing, which it in fact, is. Stop taking the review so personally.

You have no idea what you are talking about, and obviously don't actually own a pair, I however,DO own a pair and have used them with my iPhone AND my iPod Touch, I usually use 4S's as they sound better. And I've been using in-the-ear 'phones for years and have had any ear problems. The only problem for some people is fit, they have to be fitted properly to get the benefits of their excellent sound quality.
Comparing noise blocking (as you call it) with noise canceling, top end noise blocking beats any noise canceling, They 'cancel' the outside noise better, and they sound better, hence why studios, audiophiles are willing to pay for them.
If you're going to make a 'comment' then you should do your research properly, like actually trying some first
