For those of us who wear eyeglasses (wonder if manufacturers take us into consideration when testing their products), a lot of this headsets are hard to wear, sometimes even uncomfortable. My wife (who doesn't wear eyeglasses) and I both purchased Motorola phones and the Motorola HS850 headset. While she was able to wear the headset with no problems/complaints, I could not, because of the issue of it being to loose on your ear and of course the eyeglasses did not help the cause.

This was all remedied by the Jabra BT250v. It has a better hold on your ear and my eyeglasses don't get in the way. I have a few pair of eyeglasses and some of them are bulkier than others. Even with my prescription sunglasses (which are bulky) the BT250v is comfortable on my ear. I also found (this being my first time dealing with any bluetooth technology) that the sound quality is excellent. I hear people clearly and from my questions, they hear me clearly as well. Distance away from the phone does not seem to be a problem. I haven't tested it at 30ft, but have at about 15 and it works fine. The set up was easy. However I did have an issue with the buttons being behind my ear, unlike the HS850 whose buttons are on the side. As for the vibration feature, I don't use it. the headset is on my ear when in use and not in my pocket. I turn it off and don't find a use for it, but some others may.

Overall a great first experience with a bluetooth headset. I recommend it to those who wear eyeglasses. Yes it looks a bit star trekish, but you will be happy with your purchase.

"Timex has nothing on the BT250v"

5 stars  | on by ngoron

Pros

The shape of it fits comfortably and securely around the back of the ear. The sound quality is superb. The selection of jelbuds that fit into the ear have an almost noise reduction attribute.

Cons

The only downside is they didn't give it to me for free.

I love the design. It's out of the way and there is nothing poking out from the side of my head. It not only rings but it also vibrates. It is the most reliable headset I have ever purchased. As far as durability goes, I lost my headset in the lawn in winter time. I found it in summer time while cutting the lawn. That means it had been rained on numerous times and been subjected to freezing winter nights. I thought no way this thing is gonna work. I plugged it in and the beautiful blue light came on.
Still, i'm thinking no way this thing is gonna work. After charging it I paired with my Palm 650 and presto it was all good. That was back in 2008. I originally purchased the headset in 2006 and it is still working today. Whoa!!

I am on my 4th BT250V. I returned the first one to the ebay seller and two more times directly to Jabra. Jabra tech support has been polite and responsive. But, they can't seem to fins me a BT250V that works.

I am using it with a Samsung Gleam. I get lots of static. If I walk around outside and keep my phone in my shirt pocket I can find spots where I get clean sound. But, all I have to do is walk a few feet or turnaround and I get static.

Also, I cannot use the voice command dialing if there is any wind or other background. I have to yell the commands to make a connection.

I have since purchased a Ssmsung WEP410. It works fine. The sound quality is only fair to good. But, no static!!
