"Timex has nothing on the BT250v"
on by ngoronPros The shape of it fits comfortably and securely around the back of the ear. The sound quality is superb. The selection of jelbuds that fit into the ear have an almost noise reduction attribute.
Cons The only downside is they didn't give it to me for free.
Summary I love the design. It's out of the way and there is nothing poking out from the side of my head. It not only rings but it also vibrates. It is the most reliable headset I have ever purchased. As far as durability goes, I lost my headset in the lawn in winter time. I found it in summer time while cutting the lawn. That means it had been rained on numerous times and been subjected to freezing winter nights. I thought no way this thing is gonna work. I plugged it in and the beautiful blue light came on.
Still, i'm thinking no way this thing is gonna work. After charging it I paired with my Palm 650 and presto it was all good. That was back in 2008. I originally purchased the headset in 2006 and it is still working today. Whoa!! -
"Lots of static and can't use voice commands if there is ANY background noise."
on by iluvmoxiePros Nice fit, not much else...
Cons Lots of static and unuasable outside if there is any wind
Summary I am on my 4th BT250V. I returned the first one to the ebay seller and two more times directly to Jabra. Jabra tech support has been polite and responsive. But, they can't seem to fins me a BT250V that works.
I am using it with a Samsung Gleam. I get lots of static. If I walk around outside and keep my phone in my shirt pocket I can find spots where I get clean sound. But, all I have to do is walk a few feet or turnaround and I get static.
Also, I cannot use the voice command dialing if there is any wind or other background. I have to yell the commands to make a connection.
I have since purchased a Ssmsung WEP410. It works fine. The sound quality is only fair to good. But, no static!! -
"Don't waste your money"
on by Odysseus1951Pros Good sound quality and talk time
Cons Very uncomfortable
Summary Don't waste your money on this headset. Its not very comfortable to wear but that's not the worst problem. The ear bud won't stay in your ear. Its an interchangeable gel piece on the end of a spring arm. To hear properly you must push the ear bud into your ear but the spring just pulls it back out. Jabra provides different gel adaptors but they really don't solve the problem. You end up just pushing and pushing and then your ear gets irritated. I called Jabra and they said they had never heard of the problem. Then I watched the CNET review video and there the problem was!!! VERY IRRITATING AND A WASTE OF MONEY

"Not a good choice...."
on by BubbaKatzPros Vibrates in case you have it off your head and the phone is on silent...
Cons Terrible connection to Treo 700wx, been through 2.
Summary I got this on a clearance deal at Office Depot.
The first one DOA and Jabra replaced it with another one.
The second one lasted about four weeks and then died.
The third one was a BT500v that is awaiting replacement. At least that one lasted about five months.
Everyone complained about the sound quality and I had problems keeping it from losing connections with the Treo 700wx and then it would lock up and then lock up the phone.
Granted, the Treo could have been the problem, but without buying mass quantities of phones and contracts to evaluate these things with, I can only refer to my experience. -
"Works same as the 500 for me"
on by doclees1Pros Long charge life, good sound quality
Cons Could fit tighter, need medium size ear piece
Summary I have this and the BT500. The thinner 500 fits nicer on the ear although the 250 isn't bad. The changeable ear piece produces too deep a tone in the longer one and too soft in the shorter one. Need one in the middle or of a different material. The 500 seems to react faster in call connection than the 250. The 250 answer button is on top and sometimes answering you can move the ear piece out of center. The 500 is on the bottom and isn't an issue for me. The 250 has a charging cradle and the 500 has a micro usb charging port. The 250 stopped charging after about 2 months of use. I got the 500 for about $20. Then I took apart the 250 charging cradle to find a solder point that crossed. Cleaned the solder and it charges fine now. Other than quality control with the extra parts on the 250, both seem to be good products.
