"Good until you walk outside"
Pros: Price, controls, pairing, Jabra customer service
Cons: uncomfotable, low volume, intermittent reception, "blinking-lights"
Summary: I originally saw the headset reviewed by David Pogue (www.nytimes.com) and bought the headset and the Jabra bluetooth adapter for iPod. Pairing everything was easy enough and soon, I was listening to my iPod and receiving calls on my Blackberry 8700c.
As-soon-as I stepped outside, all that changed. I could not hear music or phone calls above regular street noise even with the headset, the iPod and the phone volumes turned up to the maximum setting. Also, the iPod frequently lost connection to the headset.
After about 3 months of daily use, the headset stopped working. Happily, I was able to contact Jabra via email and got a replacement (probably refurbished) sent in a day.
Since then, I got the Blackberry 8820, so it acts as both my phone and mp3 player. Music playback is the same as it was with the iPod. Too low and intermittent (when I'm outdoors).
The intermittent thing is especially odd, since none of my other bluetooth headsets (Motorola & Plantronics) ever had that kind of problem with any of my phones.
I've since replaced the Jabra with an $8 wired solution and am much happier.
On a side note, the Jabra BT620s has lights on either side to indicate different modes. Like many bluetooth devices, in "normal" mode it blinks blue every few seconds. The "problem" is that the lights on the 620 are relatively large and the blinking attracts quite a bit of attention.
