"Great fit, otherwise horrible"1.0 starson by terabitman
Pros: Fit is the best I've ever had from an earbud. It's discouraging how poor the functionality is.
Cons: Short battery life, never gets even the 2 hours talk time advertised.
Media playback is choppy, cuts out often.
Low battery notification is annoying.
Summary: I'm actually quite upset that this headset isn't better. Especially with the $110+ price tag.
The fit is amazing, most headsets drive me nuts. But the operation makes me hate this headset.
My biggest gripe is the annoying "Low battery" notifications. Other headsets have a discrete beep notification, Stone 2 has an annoying voice every 5 minutes that interrupts both incoming audio and cuts off outgoing as well. This goes on for at around 20-30 minutes before the headset actually dies. Wish I could turn the notification off.
Battery life in general is poor. The box advertises 2 hours of talk time from a charge, which is already poor, but I've only ever gotten 1.5 hours out of it (best case), usually it's around 45 min to an hour. What makes this worse is that "standby" time isn't much better. Even when not in use the headset dies after 3-4 hours. I've noticed there's constantly static coming out of the earpiece also.
Voice commands are so-so. Sometimes I have to repeat myself several times to answer or ignore a call. Activating the voice command feature on the phone works fine with a BlackBerry, but I can't get it to work on Android 2.2
Even when paired with a phone that doesn't have A2DP I have the same experience.
I don't have an issue with the volume rocker like others. Maybe it's just a matter of touching it the right way.
Overall very disappointing from a headset that had so much hype
