The Voyager Pro is *NOT* better. Plantronics headsets use a cheaper - and flawed - Bluetooth transmitter. Others parties were completely unable to hear me on BlackBerry Tour, whereas the Jawbone's superior circuitry provided good - if not slightly low - volume on both ends.

I own two Plantronics devices (including the Voyager Pro), and the Jawbone mops up the floor with it, so to speak.

Wish this review had been available before I bought a Prime. I was even more disappointed in the Jawbone Prime after the Original had been so fantastic. Warranty replacement response on the Prime dropped my opinion further.

Voyager Pro is huge and bulky, this one is small and stylish. A matter of taste but not really the same class.

Where were you able to buy both that would allow you to return one? What phone and wireless carrier do you use?

Be sure to also look at yourself in the mirror to see how ******-baggy you look. You'll quickly regret your choice if your friends make a weird face every time they see you with it on....

Headsets are already nerdy, a stab at fashion can't hurt. In this regard, the jawbone beats the plantronics hands down. If you're a hermit, go ahead and go for the plantronics.

I just got rid of the Voyager Pro due to its size and unique ablity to pick up any kind of wind (even while walking) I could not even crack the windows in my car with it! I just went to a Jawbone Prime and I can roll all windows down with not a sound heard on the other end!! Do you work for Plantronics?? There is no comparision between these two products!

excellent suggestions, I always "buy and try" first, I agree, this bluetooth headset is a pile! poor voice quality and noise cancellation is not very good, would have rather had the noise than the eratic cutou, johnny robot sound that came across to the listener on the other end

Wait, what are you reviewing? Is it the Prime or the Voyager Pro? I did just what you suggested and wound up keeping both. I like the natural sound from the Voyager Pro but not too crazy about the call center look. I like the Prime for it's look and more superior noise cancellation technology. The Prime does need more battery power though.

I found this review to have very good advice for trying out the products. And for someone who is looking for a direct comparison against the Plantronics, I really appreciate it.

Sounds like LChatelain is working for Aliph and is trying to discredit a useful review...i mean come on! To be fair, how many reviews here sound like they were written by Aliph employees? Isn't the answer most of them, since they gloss over/ignore the shortcomings of this product?

I tested both and I returned the Jawbone Prime because the sound quality and the noise cancellation just isn't up to par when compared against the Plantronics Voyager Pro. Not to mention the shorter battery life and that aweful Jawbone proprietary charging cable you need to take everywhere. I charge the voyager pro with my existing micro USB chargers I got from my Moto headset. AND the Jawbone Prime was 30% more in cost. Comparing features and performance, the Jawbone Prime is one of the worst deals on the market.
