"Great headset"
Pros: Small and light, boom switch is brilliant, great sound
Cons: Range is short
Summary: I have been using this headset for about 6 months. I initially purchased it to use in a company car, but ended up using it everywhere, including sitting in my office. I have used it with a KRZR, Cingular 8125, RAZR, and Blackberry 8800. A few observations:
SIZE
This is a very small headset. When folded it easily fits in a pocket with making a bulge.
CHARGING
Charges with a mini-USB connection. A full charge takes less than an hour and lasts for a couple of days (with several hours' use each day). As the charge gets low, static can be an issue. Static becomes a big issue before the headset gives out, so I have never run it dry.
VOLUME
Superior volume, which is rare in a BT headset. I generally have to reduce the volume (volume up/down buttons are conveniently located), and I do not have especially sensitive hearing ability (according to my wife).
PAIRING
Headset has paired with several phones and my laptop without a hitch. Not a complicated process and easy to remember (I lost the manual the first day).
SOUND QUALITY
The sounds quality is superior to every other headset (4 or 5) I have used, and the noise canceling works well in all but windy and really loud environments. Callers on the other end cannot tell when I am driving 70 with the window down unless wind hits the mike. In normal environments, this headset sounds as good as the handset. I have yet to use a jawbone headset, but I imagine that it beats the H700, based on reviews.
RANGE
Disappointing. As noted above, the range decreases with the battery level, but is never close to advertised range of 10 meters. Even with the Blackberry 8800 (which reportedly has a very good bluetooth range), I often have to move the phone to the same side of my body to avoid static.
FIT
My average sized ears and head fit the unit well. It has never fallen off, fits with our without glasses, and is easy to switch from one ear to the other. You can wear this unit all day if you don't mind looking like a dork--at least, comfort will not be an issue. The soft rubberized ear hook does a good job.
GENERAL
I have read that some get muffled transmission when the microphone boom presses against their face. Fat faces? Defective units? Not sure, but I have never had that problem. In any case, it would be a simple matter to put a small rubber dot on the boom to keep the end off of your face.
I like the fact that this headset does not go into the ear canal, which can be uncomfortable and dangerous. With the headset on, you can still hear everything around you.
The main button, on the face of the device, has very intuitive functions. It answers, mutes, and initiates voice-dialing. I have had good luck with voice-dialing (both speaker dependent and independent), but, strangely, bad luck with verbal number dialing.
I do wish that the circular light (around the big button could be disabled (and maybe it can--I lost the manual) as I am self-conscious about it when driving at night. The light has three colors, FYI (green--charing complete, red--charging, and blue--working or waiting). Other than that, the device is nearly perfect. The folding boom is pure genius: close it and switch the headset off. Open it, and the headset is on (it powers on and connects fast enough to answer a call).
Finally, I have charged this device every other day for six months, and battery life has not been affected in any appreciable manner.
For the price I do not think you can beat this headset.
