"Owner of PPC-6700; Glad I Didn't Listen To User Ratings!"

    by jwalt_strikes on July 26, 2007

Pros: Clear sound on both ends, small and "cool", easy to set up, portable charger.

Cons: When used with the Treo 650..., I'd rate it a 1. DOESN'T work well with the Treo.

Summary: I waited a long time for this headset. I held off getting it as the H5 from a overseas online dealer because I hadn't heard any feedback here in the states. The feedback on CNET only made thing worse for me. When I saw it in Staples, I couldn't resist the look and had to try it. ...Glad I did.!!! I owned the Plantronics 650 before (lost it). That was the best headset I'd ever had. This is better. CLEAR AS A BELL ON BOTH ENDS. The pairing was simple and quick. The charger is a def plus. I paid $149 for mine. I know I could have gotten it cheaper online, but when I had it in my hand and saw how small it was...had to get it. I don't regret it. It fits in my ear fine. NO DISCOMFORT WHAT SO EVER. My wife has tiny ears and she loves it. She was beyond upset when it didn't work with her Treo. It paired fine, bu the sound quality with the Treo was terrible. Static like you wouldn't believe. If you have a Treo, don't waste your time. If you have a PPC 6700, you've found your earpiece.

Let me say I've had my H9 for a few days, and I'm still very happy with it. The size is the biggest thing about it I like and the sound quality is good. The charger that comes with it ensures I don't run out of power. I understand with the size of the headset, I can't expect it to do EVERY THING. But, if it were possible here are some things I wish were improved on the headset: My ringtones don't play through the headset so I don't know who is calling. I can live with that, but some may not. The headset doesn't vibrate to alert incoming calls. If its not in my ear, I have to wait until the phone rings. My phone has a delay of about 2-3 rings behind the headset. Again, not a big deal but.... Portability: if you are a female who carries a purse, the charger is great. If you wear slacks or something it isn't huge, but... could be smaller. Lastly, it fits deep in the ear. Not bad for me, but it blocks out surrounding noice. Great except I have to turn my left ear to people to hear them well. Over all I'm still happy the purchase. I may rate it more on the lines of 8 or 8.5 vice 9.
