"Works very well, but a few foibles"
Pros: Good sound quality, light weight, uses the same charger as my phone
Cons: Fit can be dodgy, single-button control not the greatest
Summary: Bluetooth was the one feature I definitely wanted on my new phone, because I hate headset wires with a passion. I got a Motorola E815 and chose the HS820 because it was the less expensive of the two Motorola headsets available (the other one is the HS850).
There are some very good things here...the charger is the same one used by the phone, which is a big deal to me...simple is good. The sound quality is just fine, connectivity is no problem at all, and overall I think it's a good headset.
At first the headset feels like it wants to fall off, but it stays on quite well and I've gotten used to it. I wouldn't say it feels secure, though. That ear hook could use some work.
The one thing I don't like is the multifunction button. To turn it on you have to press the button for four seconds, until you get a stuttering blink from the LED. But don't press it for five seconds, because then it will try to re-sync with the phone.
Since I really don't want to leave the headset on all the time, I'd much prefer it if there was a simpler way to turn it on...one that doesn't require looking at it or counting out the four seconds, neither of which I want to do while driving.
Fortunately, there is...on a different headset. It's the Motorola HS850, which turns on and connects to the phone (reportedly in a couple of seconds) when you flip open the mic boom, and turns off when you close it again. For this reason alone, I'm returning the 820 and have ordered an 850.
