When Motorola came out with the Motorola Rokr S9 headset two years ago, stereo Bluetooth headsets were still fairly new, and the S9 gained popularity because of its sports-centric design. Now that more phones have stereo Bluetooth capability (including the iPhone 3G, thanks to its latest firmware update), Motorola is wise to keep hammering away at making new headsets, like the Motorola Rokr S9 HD. It has a similar design to the S9, but is equipped with higher fidelity sound for your music-listening needs. We quite like the sound quality and the fit was OK, but it doesn't handle sports activity as well as we would like. The Motorola Rokr S9 HD retails for $99.99 but you can find it for as low as $60. The Rokr S9 HD comes with a Motorola D650 iPod adapter.

The Motorola Rokr S9 HD has a design almost identical to the S9. The neckband connecting the two earpieces floats slightly behind the head, and you wear the headset so that the ear loops hook over the top of your ears. It's not at all clunky or bulky, but we did find that it does pinch the sides of our head slightly. The S9 HD can also be a bit of a hassle if you have longer hair. Otherwise, it's quite comfortable to wear and it's easy to slip the headset on and off because of the slightly flexible ear loops. The earpieces sit just inside the ear opening, and there are three different size earbud coverings for a more custom fit.

The battery of the S9 HD is housed in a long and flat base at the back of the neckband. Underneath the base are the power button and charger jack with an indicator light in between. The music player controls are located above the right earpiece and the call button and volume controls are above the left. These side earpiece buttons are raised above the surface and are easy to find and press, but the power button on the neckband is a bit stiff. Also, the charger jack is covered up by a rubber flap that isn't very secure, thus reducing the headset's moisture resistance.

We tested the Motorola Rokr S9 HD headset with the Apple iPhone 3G and the Casio Exilim C721. The Rokr S9 HD comes with SRS-WOW HD sound that really amps up the overall fidelity of the music. You can choose between two SRS-WOW HD settings: one has fuller sound with more clarity, and another has balanced audio with enhanced bass. Music quality was quite spectacular as a result; the bass sounded round and full, and we were impressed with the surround sound qualities of the high-definition audio.

Call quality was a little less than stellar, but still surprisingly good. We could hear our callers loud and clear without any problems and vice versa. However, callers did detect quite a bit of echo in the background and they said our voices sounded rather harsh and machine-like at times.

We also tested the Rokr S9 HD out while jogging outdoors. The headset bounced up and down a lot, which felt a little uncomfortable and unwieldy. We also found that the Bluetooth connection would cut out every once in a while, especially if we were really jogging at a rapid pace. This happened a lot more when the paired handset was in the pocket, which might've caused a slight antenna interference; we would advise you wear an armband for better connectivity.

Other features of the Rokr S9 HD include support for call waiting and last number redial, plus the ability to transfer calls from the headset to the phone and vice versa. The Rokr S9 HD also has multipoint technology, which means it can connect up to two phones at once.

The Motorola Rokr S9 HD comes with a Motorola D650 iPod adapter, which will add stereo Bluetooth functionality to any iPod via the dock connector. It also comes with a drawstring pouch for the headset. The Rokr S9 HD has a battery life of up to 6 hours talk time and/or playback time.

Super for sports and gym

Pros: Good sound quality, comfortable, your ears dont hurt.

Cons: No cons really...

Review: These were a really good buy. They are really comfortable and easy to use. Really good for sports with the side buttons being really helpful.
Other users wrote that when sweating the buttons stop working, I had no such experience although I am mostly wearing them when cycling and when at the gym.
Also I found good that you can have your pc or device somewhere in the house (for example when cooking) and move easily around, listening to music and/or talking to the phone without having problems like holding a phone or wires that make what you re doing difficult.
Lastly, I found the earplugs really comfortable as well as friends with a bigger head.

Worst Stereo Bluetooth Headset I've Ever Owned...

Pros: The Look...and that is it.

Cons: Fit, Sound & Connectivity. (read my summary)

Review: These are by far the worst Bluetooth headsets I've ever owned (as I stated in the one line summery) and here's why.

I have 4 other brands of Bluetooth headsets and they all shine in their own way.

Set 1, has excellent sound quality, but after about an hour the fit starts to hurt my ears. The connectivity is great.

Set 2, fits so perfect and are so light weight that I forget that I have them on. The sound quality is good but need more bass, and the connectivity is poor.

Set 3, fit great, sound excellent but they are heavy and bulky. The connectivity is good, not great just good.

Set 4, Look beautiful, Sound excellent and the connectivity is Excellent...But I use those for Vizio TV at night so I don't wake anyone up at 3am. Plus they are too big to use on the go with my cell phone.

Now as for the Motorola Rokr S9 HD? They don't fit well at all. Totally uncomfortable, Not HD sound quality what-so-ever, Heavy, Stuff, Extremely poor connectivity.

The only thing the Motorola Rokr S9 HD have going for them is the Style. it looks very cool. In this case looks are totally deceiving. I'm trying to sell them because I took too long to return them to the store.

Great sound and comfortable

Pros: Great sound, comfortable and bluetooth works well.

Cons: not completly water proof. But I use it while running and unlike my original s9 neither channel has given out, the buttons stop responding but always work again after drying out

Review: actually like better then most wired heaphones I've had but I've only ever head ones that cost 40 to 50 dollars before at most. bluetooth compresion is sometimes noticeable but doesn't bother me, but the effects, equalization and compression would probably bother audio purists, though the effects do a lot to hide the weakness of bluetooth.

Great idea, horrible execution.

Pros: Good audio quality.

Cons: Horrible blue-tooth connection. If you take it outdoors, forget it. Attempted jogging with phone in pocket (different phones tried), and it would cut out every few seconds.

Cannot wear with glasses.

Charger cover allows in sweat, rusts out.

Review: DO not get this.

MotoRokr S9-HD quit working after 3 days

Pros: What is good about it? Well, it worked. I changed the ear-pads around, and it went from painful to tolerable. The "pause" button worked. I made calls, and some complained about the audio, some did not.

Cons: Well, it quit working! On day three.

Review: This behind the head design is NOT COMFORTABLE. I will look for the kind that hang the weight of the device on ear-loops next time I buy. The bluetooth radio antenna is in the middle of the band in the back, behind your head. You'll lose signal and the sound will "cut out" if the signal has to attempt to penetrate your flesh. Most of the weight of the unit is in the middle of the headband, behind your head. It would be more comfortable if the weight was just behind each ear (so I think)... The signal strength issue is part from a weak transmitter (the iphone 3gs) and LOUSY ANTENNA PLACEMENT (the headset). When mine quit, I noticed that plugging it in to charge, the LED lit up PURPLE, which is not listed in the manual (red, yellow, green are defined in the manual). Motorola's on-line chat was very frustrating, as their software told me I was nth in line (third, first, second, fourth) and then, after a few minutes wait, SESSION CANCELLED TRY AGAIN LATER... When I finally got through, I asked for a button-pressing sequence to try to RESET THE S9-HD and I was told to plug it in to charge, and to press ALL THREE LEFT-ear buttons (the volume up, volume down, and the phone button, simultaneously, while plugged into the charger) ... that did nothing. Then, the nice person told me how Motorola would replace my headset. Where is the six-sigma quality, Motorola?
Out running with my iphone on my left bicep (so I could see and manipulate the iphone screen).... it cut out a lot. I had to twist the iphone around to the BACK OF MY ARM, or put the iphone into MY BACK POCKET, or carry the iphone in a fanny-pack on my fanny, in order to hear consistently. Inside a car, where there are lots of metal objects for the signal to reflect off of, the audio never cut out, but with nothing around you ... lots of cut-outs. Even with the iphone in an arm-band, twisted around to the back of my left arm, if I LOOKED to my left (which put the motorola antenna over my right shoulder) the audio would cut out. Conversely, looking to my right guaranteed good signal strength. The fanny pack solution worked the best, and it is better than wires! Just wish the headset kept working... The headset is not loud enough. The ear-holes and their pads permit a good awareness of noises and sounds around you, but you can crank the sound up to the max and still lose words from your podcast from ordinary noises.

Pros: - Decent sound
- Reasonably easy pairing

Cons: - Lost audio in one earpiece and charger connection came loose after 10 months of gentle use
- Motorola were not helpful at all with regards to replacement or even a discount on a newheadset
- Occlusion of exteriour sound was poor (OK indoors, not good

Good for Iphones and laptops

Pros: great design easy to use. and arm. music and phone conversations are clear

Cons: interference when multiple blue-tooth devices are present only with music on my iphone/ipod, and not phone conversations.
cross the ear pieces when not in use to keep it snug in your ears

Review: Ive had a iphone 3g and now an iphone 4. Ive had the S9HD for 2 years its a wonderful device. I can listen to music change tracks hold phone conversations for a lot longer without holding a phone to my ear, perfect for driving, walking, rollerskating.connects easily to bluetooth equipped laptops or smart phones so that I can skype or watch movies. conversations are in stereo. it can be difficult to wear with glasses, but its sturdy and flexible.I took a little time and reformed it so that it will work with my sunglasses
holds a charge for 8 hours recharges quickly. there is a way that you can use the headset with your phone and laptop at the same time.

Uncomfortable and bad drivers

Pros: Not bad looking. Easy to set-up. People had difficulty understanding me when using it as a phone headset.

Cons: Very uncomfortable my ears hurt after only ~20 minutes from the weight of the headset where the ear pods hit my ear. Also, It not run with my new Dell well, after about 10 minutes my laptop disables the device and it won't run again until I reboot.

Review: I bought this head set when I got my Palm Centro which had stereo Bluetooth capability, but I returned the Centro because it was too hard to read and got Verizon's Palm Treo 755p which did not do stereo Bluetooth. I wish I had returned the headset too.

I have not used it very much, because it was not a very good phone headset , it was uncomfortable and I had no portable Bluetooth enabled stereo device to use it with 'til I got my Dell laptop.

S9-HD Stereo Bluetooth Headset Fit Properly my Phone

Pros: I will never miss a call. Music mutes or pauses when calls come in. I once purchased one from Papatek.com, which is cheap yet I think this one is better. You can try.

Cons: Compact 1.3 cm speakers and a snug fit in the ear.

Review: If it goes off to conserve battery the music cuts in and out, you can reset the Network settings by Going to Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings and it fixed the problem.

Super easy to connect to my Droid 2

Pros: Super easy to connect to my Droid 2, and I love the freedom of being wireless!

Cons: The around the head and in the ear style isn't something I'm used to, but I believe I'll get used to it pretty easily.

Review: Getting through the task of getting used to comfort changes is really worth being wireless, so I love these headphones! I can zip my phone all the way into a pocket of my jacket, so snow stays out and away from my phone, and I can cover my head with my hood, and I still hear Pandora just as if I were holding the phone in my hand.

Nothing but problems.

Pros: When it works, the sound is fantastic.

Cons: Three different units, three different breakdowns, three different replacements. I'm done with Motorola.

Review: This headset was billed for working out, but is unable to take the stress of a workout. I put the first one down to a fluke, the second to bad luck, but by the time the third failure happened, it was pretty clear that these were a waste of money and time. Last set is going in the garbage.

I suspect the folks who are having good luck with these don't work out very hard.

Avoid these like the plague.

Great sounding, but don't last long if you sweat!

Pros: I bought these after another Rocketfish pair of headphones as they looked more sturdy, rubberized, and figured they would last well. I was actually surprised at the sound quality as the bass was great and overall for bluetooth they sound great.

Cons: These didn't last long at all as just mild sweat appears to break them. My volume button stopped working after about a month even and unfortunately it was the up volume and it broke all the way down.

Review: Don't use if your going to sweat at all in these. Sounds great, but not ideal for gym like they appear to be. Motorola also proves very hard or too big to contact to get any replacements or fixes done which is disappointing also.

But, if you want to spend $100 every month and you workout at the gym, just expect to buy 12 pairs a year ;-)

Ruggedly built good stereo sound .

Pros: Not visible to cops while driving! Sound quality is excellent for the size. Battery life is good, (not excellent!). Rugged, not easily damaged when used in harsh environments. No antenna wire hanging down, it's all internal.

Cons: BREAKUP!!! Shorter range than many other Bluetooth devices. Distinct pitch change after recovery from a breakup.

Review: My Motorokor S9 HD headset is paired to an LG enVtouch phone offered by Verizon Wireless. Some of the comments I make could involve problems with this phone's setup as well as the headset. If you are a pretty serious audiophile who can hear lots of things many others don't, this headset could be a problem for you. After living with this headset for awhile the most distinctive problem with it is AUDIO BREAKUP! I put my phone in it's carrying case and unless positioned perfectly, I cannot maintain a steady stream from the phone. When a minor breakup occurs a very curious thing happens...the music changes pitch and runs faster for a brief period of time! If you are pitch sensitive, this can really become annoying! I am surprised at how sensitive to interference this headset/phone combination is. Walk through the field of a 2.4 GHz wireless router and depending on which channel it's on, you lose the stream and it begins breaking up. For some reason when riding my bike I get a lot of audio breakup...curious! I am not sure if this is because of the headset, phone or if the Bluetooth profile lacks any viable method of error correction, but I am surprised at how often it encounters interference! That having been said, let's look at the other aspects. I don't like the behind the head design much. It tends to pivot down and then pull on your ears when you move your head a certain way. The earbuds themselves must be fit the right size tip for your ear to get the good sound, especially bass! Try all of them provided with the headset and see which works best for you. These headsets can really crank so be careful how loud you play them! Sound quality is quite good and the definition on high frequencies seems adequate although at times highs can sound somewhat synthetic probably due to output sampling rate. Most of my music is recorded at the highest MP3 setting, 320 Kbps which can give CD quality audio. The dynamic range is most definitely there and is put simply, excellent! I find the buttons on the headset to be not as easy and intuitive to use as one would think. I end up pushing the wrong button more often than not. Particularly tough is finding by touch where the top and bottom most buttons are on each side and then pushing the correct button. Left ear controls volume down/answer call/ volume up and the right ear controls skip backwards/pause/skip forward. I still prefer to run the music player from the phone and not the headset. On my setup when phone activity is encountered, the music pauses, including when receiving a text message or the like and this actually serves to notify you almost better than the phone does. I like that alot. This headset can be used with your MP3 player while driving, especially if the stereo in your car doesn't work! The profile is small and you can hear sounds around you. I suggest using the headset controls though, don't be messing with the phone while driving! The call quality is real good. I can hear the caller in even noisy environments very well but the sound is quite different from your ordinary bluetooth headset in the fact that the audio is not equalized and comes through as it is. So get used to a slightly different sound from your callers. They are very easy to understand and hear though. the mike has very high quality audio and has good noise reduction, so talking on the phone while in a noisy environment doesn't blow away the caller on the other side with background audio. This Motorola got right and a good job! The headset doesn't have the antenna wire hanging down in the back and that makes it much more usable but may account for it's shorter range than I expected. The headset is nice and rugged and won't easily be damaged with everyday rough and tumble use. Battery life seems good, but my headset's charge light turns green well before the battery is charged, so leave it in at least two hours after getting a green light to get maximum battery charge. It seems to work fine and have pretty good battery life. the main weird thing is that after a period of dormancy where the headset is not in use, it auto disconnects from the phone and shuts down. While this may preserve battery life, you are frequently not aware of this until you try to answer an incoming call and it won't answer it. This seems to be something with all Motorola Bluetooth devices I've encountered so far and it's a bit irritating. I recommend having a standard bluetooth headset to use when not needing the stereo capability. Overall though, listening to my music on this headset is a very enjoyable experience until such time as signal problems are encountered.

Updated on Nov 24, 2010

After living with this headset for awhile now I do have a few issues! Why does the headset in the middle streaming audio suddenly stop streaming it, disconnects from the phone and then reconnect again? The radio that receives the Bluetooth signal is WEAK! Of this I am sure now! I place my LG enVtouch phone in a case on my belt and that is when the trouble begins! Drop outs occur unless the phone in the case is positioned precisely. While sound quality is awesome, I have replaced the rubber tips on the ends with foam earbud pads and it's A LOT MORE COMFORTABLE! Your head doesn't feel pinched after you have been wearing it for awhile and I think the audio is clearer and louder. Knowing how Motorola bluetooth devices are, the quirks this headset has are very much Motorola related. It works but be aware of the fact that you are going to have these quirks and if you can deal with these then go ahead and buy. If stuff like this drives you crazy, then don't!

Updated on Mar 27, 2011

After 6-months of using this headset I would say DON'T BUY IT!!! The bass is gone, there is an inordinate amount of distortion like the sound of a cracked speaker, the audio breaks up severely while riding a bicycle and then changes pitch when it comes back. The battery life is max 4-hours of continous music play. Headset shuts down after a period of no use and when you try to answer a phone call, you can't! The volume is insufficient and on some softer recorded pieces is simply not adequate to hear but only adequate when in quiet areas. The buttons are confusing and 90% of the time I hit the wrong ones! It is comfortable to wear AFTER I changed those rubber earpads to the foam ones used by most earbuds. These headsets do not last long and considering what I paid for these, this is tragic! The quality just isn't there and I don't recommend anyone purchase these things, you'll end up being pretty mad that you did!

Excellent product!

Pros: Awesome sound quality, freedom from wires.

Cons: Have to play with it to make it fit snugly. Music cuts out very rarely. Not as much bass as some people may want.

Review: I have to say, after having to deal with irritating wires, this thing is a blessing. Once you get it to sit properly on your head, it's like nothings there. It would definitely seem uncomfortable for someone with a large head though. The only drawbacks are that you have to wiggle it to get it to sit in your ears right, and for some unknown reason, the music cut out on me a couple of times even when it was charged. Other than that, the sound quality is surprisingly great especially for something wireless. Even though there isn't as much bass in these headphones as my last set of earbuds, the isolating nature of the ear cups and the solid sound quality make up for it. I would definitely recommend this item to any frequent music listener who is frustrated with their wires getting in the way.

One of the best blue-tooth sets so far.

Pros: Excellent sound, very easy to use, nice fit (comes with 3 pair of ear plugs), no loopy wires, the design is flawless (2 years old)

Cons: Uncomfortable at times, especially when I need to lay my head down. Sometimes there may be a problem with the signal, it would take 2-5 minutes to configure itself.

Review: It may have it's flaws, but it's positives make up for it. At first, I totally regret buying this, but after a while, it became clear that I was wrong.

Cons: As reviewer said, flap covering charging port is loose and unwieldy
Cuts out constantly outside

Cons: buttons stop working if one sweats too much.

The best invention since Sliced Bread!!!

Pros: Lightweight, comfortable, AMAZING sound quality, simple to use, controls my music remotely (phone stays in my pocket), I could go on and on...

Cons: I wish you could turn up the volume one or two more "notches", but it's plenty loud for most of my music!

Review: If my home was on fire and I could only save a few things, these S9HD headphones would definately be one of the things I'd save, and I'm not kidding! I actually own 4 pairs of these headsets, 2 in my gym bag (one to wear, and one in case the battery dies on the first pair, since I use them till the battery dies, usually about 6 hours or so of actual use). I have a charged and spare pair at home as well. I wear these when I go soak in my hottub, since they're also moisture resistant (I don't go underwater with them, but do handle them with wet hands and no problem with that)!

I have to say that I really LOVE the sound quality of these headphones as well. Oh, and I agree, the people who don't like these headhphones (complaining of poor sound quality) either purchased a cheap Chinese knockoff online, or are trying to use them with a phone that doesn't support "Stereo Bluetooth". Note that not all phones support Stereo Bluetooth, but if your phone does, get these headphones, put your music on your phone, and ROCK ON with these headphones, wirelessly!

Pros: Sound is great, comfort was awkward at 1st but after awhile you get used to it.

Cons: Had it for a few months, wont charge anymore. Sometimes the signal drops out no matter where the phone is. Not sure if sweating or being in the sauna causes issues that might not have happened if i just wore it around the street

Great product, other reviewers have crappy phones

Pros: I have the Palm Pre and I had no problem with Volume, pause, skip forward, or skip back. I just read a couple of previous reviews and if those people must not have phonse capable of handling those buttons.
I'm loving this product.

Cons: The design makes it harder to lean back and just listen with out awkwardly tilting your head. When laying on the bed I just put something under my neck. I guess you need a trade off when trying to make a solid product.

Don't waste your time

Pros: light weight

Cons: not meant for an active lifestye like they claim

Review: I just bought this product & have had it for less than 7 days! The volume is so low even on the highest setting that I can barely hear any music. Now the buttons won't work....at all! What's wierd is that when your on a phone call the volume is fine....the buttons still won't work so I can't even hang up or pick up a call from the device. I'm returning it as we speak. It's a shame because I really like the design and when the sound was working, it did sound pretty good.

Review: Maybe it's just me, but, I can't count on them to run with or anything ,for that matter. They've been sitting in a junk basket for months now. I've re-paired them several times with the same results. BTW, I've used them with my iPhone 3gs and iPod touch2g.

Great sound & design, horrid quality and durability

Pros: The sound on this is awesome and fit is great too. The design is sleek and when it works, it's awesome - easy to set up, etc.

Cons: This is my 4th S9 in 14 months. The quality on this is awful. The customer service was awful and it cost me $12 each time I had to ship my old faulty unit back to get a new one. The problem is, this is not built for people that workout or sweat.

Review: Bluetooth headset are liberating to workout in but essentially the shelf life of this headset would be about 6-months or so. The first 3 I had just died after 3 months each, they would not charge. The current one I have just died yesterday. The volume buttons stopped working so now it's stuck at the lowest volume level. I looked on blogs and apparently this is a known problem for people that sweat while working out (who doesn't???). I am sad to see my headset die because I loved working out in them. Time to find a more suitable and durable replacement. If this headset was about $40 I would not mind and I would replace it every 6-7 months but these things aren't cheap either unfortunately.

Great music quality and phone quality

Pros: Was very impressed with the phone sound quality, I sounded better than any other headset I've used wired or bluetooth. Worked well with my iPhone for music and phone calls. Has very good battery life.

Cons: Takes a little getting used to the fit. They are snug around your head and the earbuds are a little odd, but fit.

Review: I was very skeptical when I got these and went into it with low expectations. I was then very surprised when they worked so well. I commute on a train into NYC and they are perfect for my 45 minute train rides and foe walking Manhattan streets listening to music and answering calls.

Great sound, ungodly how uncomfortable they are

Pros: Deep bass, sound is good, great call sound

Cons: Unwieldy uncomfortable, cover on power plug under the back does not stay closed

Review: Bought and returned 2 days later. Earbuds stab your ears. Does not sit well on your head- don't even think about tilting your head back. Power switch and power plug under back of set- why it's not on top... cover for plug does not stay put. Other than that, the sound is great, but due to it's exceptionally poor comfort factor, I would not recommend buying this head set.

Great for light activity, hard-core athletes beware!

Pros: Decent sound and the fit was comfortable. RF range was just what you would expect from Blue-Tooth.

Cons: Not sweat resistant in any way shape or form. If they get wet, even slightly, they WILL malfunction.

Review: I really wanted to like these, so much in fact I tried getting a second pair when my first pair stopped working and I could have gotten another brand. Their sound, fit, and operation was pretty good, until I got sweat on them, then both pairs stopped functioning. I even purchased my second pair from another store to make sure that the first pair wasn't from a bad lot. The second pair failed in exactly the same way under the same conditions...sweat.

If you plan on using these for around the house, yard-work, light working out then I think the are fine, but if you are a hard-core athlete who really works his gear as hard as him/herself (US Marine, CrossFit, MMA), do not get these, they are not for you.

Not the greatest, but ok.

Pros: Seem durable and well built. Decent sound quality. Work good with my blackberry.

Cons: Dont fit very well and pinch your head. Cant wear them with glasses. Heavy in the back and hard to keep in position.

Using with bluetooth mouse on Win7 laptop, and they work until you start moving the mouse. Then the mouse lags and sound stops.

Review: Go with a different model, especially if you have a big head.

I like them

Pros: Works well, sounds good

Cons: a little uncomfortable at first

Review: I don't do reviews....but I thought I would after all the bad I read.......I like them.... I pair it with my Blackberry Curve and listen to pandora music and use it for hands free headset. I run with it in florida along the water (HUMID!!!) and never had a problem. Connection to phone works well. I walk around away from the phone and still works. Battery lasts long enough and I"m on the phone constantly in my business. I hate using the phone with out them! My only drawback was I thought they were a bit uncomfortable when I first got them....but I got used to it and wear them all the time....

Great sound, not so great for the ladies

Pros: Excellent sound, lightweight, available in Canada, no wire to get torn

Cons: Too small, gets tangled in long hair, gets tangled in hairbands

Review: I like these headphones, but it's hard to love something that's constantly tugging hairs out of my head and knocking my hairbands all over the place. If it were only a little wider or a little deeper I could wear it over my hair, but it's just too small for that. I have a feeling it was designed for someone who wears a size 6 1/4 hat - in other words, the average Japanese. (We grow 'em bigger here in Canada, and this barely fits me, an average-sized woman.) It also doesn't help that part of the outer surface of the headphones is silicon rubber, which catches on hair and clothing.

I won't speak to the quality of reception except to say that it's no better or worse than any other Bluetooth device - bad reception outdoors or in large cavernous areas, good reception indoors. I wouldn't buy any Bluetooth appliance for primary use outdoors.

I have never used these for sports or exercise (you can't wear them swimming, of course), so I can't speak to their durability in that regard. They have survived at least one fall onto concrete without harm.

One benefit of the S9 is that if you have long hair you can wear them without anyone seeing you're wearing headphones, which is handy when it comes to personal safety. Nobody sees your headphones, nobody knows you have an MP3 player, and nobody tries to steal it. (Laugh if you wish, but you probably don't travel through the north end of Winnipeg regularly.)

All in all I'm glad I bought them. I only wish they were slightly larger and smoother.

Faulty volume controls

Pros: Great sound. Ease of use

Cons: Returned 3x due to the volume controls not working properly

Review: The units are clearly defective. When this works, it works very well.
After a while, the volume controls stop working. Very disappointing. Motorola honors the one year warranty but when the year is up and the next unit stops working I will be out of luck.
Do not purchase.

great sound quality - terrible build quality

Pros: the sound quality has been greatly improved. I actually said out loud "WOW" when I first heard them. great bass response, easy to pair with my blackberry, the controls are nicely laid out.

Cons: This will break like all other Motorola S9s have in the past. The customer service will continue to dissapoint me, and they will never pay for the return shipping.

Review: These are great for JUST listening to music - NOT for use with phone functions. They will not last if you happen to sweat just the slightest bit while exersizing as the moisture ruins them. Take this advice seriously as they really like to break.

So Disapointed

Pros: Syncs Perfect with my cell phone and Lap Top. No wires. I can run on the treadmill and watch all my You Tube videos and still hear over the sound of the belt and get all my calls

Cons: YOUR NOT SUPPOSED TO SWEAT! The moisture from your sweat fills the ear buds causing the caller interference. If your ears are plugged the mic can't pick up vibration from you auditory canal. Next, your sweat shorts the electronics.

Review: I was so in LOVE with this bluetooth head set. We went on our first date, fell into lust... yea it wasn't too flexible around my ears and caused a little too much pressure, but I figured over time that could change and I could learn to deal with it.

So we married and decided to go on long workouts together BUT that's when everything changed. They didn't tell me should couldn't handle my sweat. Eventually she gave out and I started dating my x-ipod.

I'm a little sad...

Good but less than stellar

Pros: Sound quality is good

Cons: cuts out; screws up your network settings on the iPhone; doesn't work as expected with the Mac or iPhone.

Review: The sound quality is good, however, I've found that the experience is less than perfect.

First, I was a little shocked by the user guide that openly admitted that this product doesn't work well unless it has line-of-sight to the source. This means, and they specifically state this... that keeping your iPhone in your pocket will produce less desirable results. They recommend using an arm band style of carrying case. Personally, I've noticed it cut out and/or change the speed of the music (which is really weird) when I've kept my iPhone in my pocket and used the S9-HD at the same time. Had I known this before I purchased, I might have passed on this model.

Another problem that I ran into was that the music would cut out as soon as the screen on the iPhone went into standby mode. At first, I couldn't believe it but some research revealed that someone else had this problem as well and going to Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset Network solves this problem... at least temporarily until the next time it happens.

Finally, I've yet to be able to make them work with my MacBook for iChat and iTunes. It seems to have two modes, one with the mic and one without. I can't seem to listen to music and then go into a chat the way that I would use with the iPhone between music and a call. It's like it is one or the other. In 'chat' mode, the music is horrible and in 'music' mode I have no mic.

iPhone users should also know that the track forward and back buttons do not work with the iPhone 3G (not sure about other models). This is apparently a problem with the iPhone and not the headset but, again, it would have been nice to know this in advance.

could have been great

Pros: Good sound quality, comfortable to wear for 2 hours

Cons: smallest earbud is too large, no adjustment for ear canal angle

Review: Bottom line is these might be great for some people but for my ears the angle is wrong and there is no adjustment. For my ear canal they need to face forward more. Also, the headband applies pressure to your head but not to the ear buds to keep them firmly seated. I tried the smallest ear buds that come with it and they don't fit into my ear even if I push them. Way too big.

If you press and hold them in place the sound is great, but they won't stay put. I'm going to try Plantronics Backbeat 903 next.

My unit seems to have a defect also. The first day these worked fine, but the second day and after there are frequent drop outs while music is playing back.

The best $50 I have ever spent

Pros: The sound quality is outstanding. Great bass reproduction even in very low range.
Easy to pair.
Shape fits my ears/head like it was made just for me.

Cons: Sometimes the sound cuts out when I am in open spaces.
Laying down or resting your head back against something moves the earphones out of your ear a bit and you loose some of the bass.

Review: The sound quality is absolutely amazing. I have never heard such a full range of sound from any head phones wired or wireless. I mostly listen to bass heavy dance music (house and trance.) It sounds better on my S9HDs than on my home stereo.

The bass is not the only thing though. The SRS WOW creates a sound environment that just makes me close my eyes and swim in my music.

The comfort of this unit is amazing. I have had it on for about 4 hours now and can barely feel it. I wear glasses and was concerned about it interfearing with them, but the pressure of this unit is concentrated directly in the ear canal with a very soft cussioned earbud. It only lightly touches the top of my ears and I can even take off my glasses without having to take off the headphones. Like I said above it feels like it was molded just for my head.

The battery takes about 1.5 hours to fully charge and you get a good 6 hours of play time. The charging port is a mini USB like the ones you find on cameras and camcorders. This is excellent because you can use any mini USB cable to charge it from your laptop or home PC. So with no extra cost to me I can charge it just about anywhere I go.

I give Motorola huge props for using the Mini USB port. I am so sick of having a different charger for every item I buy.

I use it with my Samsung Flight mobile phone. It was easy to pair and I have not had to repair it yet. All of the controls work perfectly with my phone. The headset works well when talking on the phone. I have not been asked to repeat myself yet and do not miss any calls because the music pauses when a call comes in.

I have read in many places that this is not the best headset for phone communication because it does not cancel out background noise. This is true, but I try to avoid talking on the phone in very public places anyway. I think it is rude. So when I talk on the phone I try to be in a somewhat issolated area for privacy.

Since this works so well with my phone, I am going to invest in a very large microSD card so I can take a better library of music with me. I have no need to own a seperate MP3 device now. I carry my phone everywhere I go anyway and now I have one device that functions very well to communicate and to entertain me when on the go. Motorola has really come through with a technology that takes advantage of my phone's multifunction capabilities.

Bottom Line: If you want the best quality sound available for listening to music without wires and without spending a rediculous amount of money this is your product.

use it EVERYDAY w/BlackBerry Curve & laptop...LOVE IT!!

Pros: FANTASTIC SOUND & BASS QUALITY!!
STAYS PUT!!!
FAST CHARGE & LONG BATTERY!!

Cons: Took off half a star for this...NO NOISE CANCELLING
(this effects the people I'm talking to, not me, so sorry... that's their problem! its payback for the times they put me on speakerphone and I could only hear the last 4 words of their sentences)

Review: i was fortunate to get this at a great buy on Black Friday...$49.95. well worth that...even the full price! i use it EVERYDAY with my BlackBerry Curve running Pandora, TuneWiki and the Music Media application. I do wish the music controls worked well with Pandora but i get by. The Voice Command works better than with the Curve alone. phone conversations are much clearer than using the phone by itself. my husband normally mumbles and bff likes to talk while lying down and always sounds like she's under water. when i talk on the Rokr headset, it is CRYSTAL CLEAR. no asking for repeats and say agains.

i work in a mall, so walking through on my way to the coffee shop, sometimes people complain about the noise in the background. but, as i said earlier, they'll have to get over it. in the car or in my office no one notices the difference.

i also love that i can listen to my TiVo shows and movies on my laptop without disturbing anyone...washing dishes while watching/listening to movies/music...and cleaning around the house. at work, while setting up my sales floor, i just leave my phone in a centralized location and i can move about, vacuum, set up registers and run reports with the ease of wireless.

i love that it will automatically pause my music for any incoming or outgoing calls, and then resume my music once the call has ended.

THIS WAS MONEY WELL SPENT!!! i highly recommend this product if you have ANY of the above needs/desires.

some suggestions based on other reviews i've read....

if you have long hair - try placing the headset's bar UNDER your hair. i have VERY THICK, CURLY LOOOOONG HAIR (almost to my waist), and it works fine as long as i place it under my hair. they do pop out of my ears if i try to place them over my hair.

if they aren't staying in place - the units come with 3 different size ear buds. you may need to try a smaller/larger size ear piece. you should not be having problems with them coming out.

Expensive for what you get

Pros: No wires, cool look, external controls a plus, syncs easily with my blackberry

Cons: VERY poor connectivity outdoors with music listening and phone use
people hated talking to me on the phone, poorly designed...earbuds fell out because they are only glued in. after trying to fit the rubber covers the ear buds ripped out.

Review: My primary cimplaint is the poor connectivity. I live in the city and with all the other radio waves, the device seemed to always lose connection and interfere with my music listening. Everyone hated talking to me on the phone, either they thought they were on speaker or they couldn't hear me at all.I tried to replace the rubber pieces that fit into the ear. but after tying to put one on the entire speaker ripped out. the speakers are only glued to the surface of the plastic molding so the design is very poor. The volume is still not what I would prefer. especially in noisy environments. I wanted to like these and motorolla usually has good product. but the ROKKRS did not pass the test with me. $90 down the drain

It looks cool... that's it

Pros: Looks great, great sound quality when listening to music.

Cons: Extremely uncomfortable and horrible call quality

Review: While the iPod/iPhone sounded great when listening to music, what good is it when your ears hurt after 30 minutes of use because there is no adjustability available? Call quality was horrendously bad. If I was moving at all (even driving, being stationary myself), every one sounded like an illiterate robot and the people i was talking to actually asked me to call them back from a regular phone because this headset picked up more background noise then my voice. I wasn't able to make one successful phone call with these. Absolute waste of time and money.

I ended up taking this garbage headphones back and replaced them with the Altec Lansing Backbeat 906 bluetooth headphones. The new ones are by leaps and bounds a better product and highly recommended. Great call quality (people can't tell I'm on bluetooth headphones), very lightweight and aren't obstructed if you wear glasses. While the bass-response isn't as good as the Motorola's, overall quality and satisfaction with the product results in a 10/10 for me.

Decent product but overall dissastisfied

Pros: Sound quality is good, buttons are easy to use, it syncs easy with my iPhone. I have not had any problem using it to talk on the phone. I've not used the buttons much but they work ok so far.

Cons: I have a small head and it still clamps too tight and hurts my ears. The design feels awkward. It is too uncomfortable to use for long. Reception poor when I am moving around or if the phone i s not just perfect in alignment with the headphones.

Has good points-bad points Good outweigh the bad

Pros: Sound is fantastic. Music in both ears, phone call in both ears? The best. Range is fantastic.

Cons: Going to be tight on big heads.

Review: Just got this for my iPhone. Absolutely the best having wireless music and ability to take phone calls in one design. Definitely tight on the head. I do seem to be getting used to it, but not sure why they made the thing so stiff. Bigger heads will NOT want this headset. The range is fantastic. I read many reviews stating you had to have the phone in this pocket or that pocket in order to keep the pairing. I haven't experienced that at all. I had my phone downstairs, I went upstairs into my bedroom and closed the door. Still paired, no skipping, no static. NADA. It was crystal clear. I can say, when I first paired the device, it had a terrible connection and dropped sound while the phone and headset were 1 foot apart. I re-paired and haven't had a problem since. Range is exceptional.
For my head, the fit is excellent. These things are not coming off, unless I take them off. Solid feel. Not all the controls translate to the iphone, which sucks. Some people state the pause button works, but not for me.
Bottom line. If you have a smaller head, this headset is awesome.

Can't imagine being without them

Pros: The motorola S9-HD work great indoors.
Sound is great. The build quality is fine. Worked right after charging. I've use for a week now and charge time is great. Phone runs out before they do which is at least all day for me. Call qualilty is great.

Cons: As soon as I go outside the sound breaks up.

Review: I have to say I love these things. They are comfortable for me, even with glasses. My glasses fit comfortably over or under the headphones. I hated wires getting tangled up and my Samsung behold has a proprietary headphone jack so one can only use the ones that came with the phone and they were terrible. The volume was not loud and they kept falling out of my ears. Outdoors they don't work well, the sound breaks up. If I put my phone in my back pack close to the headphones it works fine but I'm not always walking around with a backpack except for school. Overall I love them so far. They look weird but not having to deal with any wires is great.

Great sound -not so good physically

Pros: Great sound, it is impressive how well the device delivers sound.
Great battery life.
Surprisingly light and excellent fit. Perfect for sports.

Cons: The small ear buds continuously fall off the headphone.
The blue-tooth reception is not good.
The call quality is less than acceptable.
The charging mini-USB receptacle is covered by a rubber cap that doesn't seem to fit well.

Review: Good headphones if yo are thinking about eliminating your wires and not look like you have earmuffs.
The sound quality is outstanding (once you manage to line up your transmitter and the earphone). SRS WOW HD technology does make a difference.
This earphones fit almost perfectly in your neck and fit well in your ears, and since they are very light then don't fall off easily. Perfect for running, jogging or similar activities.
My two biggest complains are poor call quality and poor blue-tooth reception. Also, the ear rubber pieces fall off the little speakers very often. I would like to see an improved blue-tooth reception, a much better call quality and noise-canceling earbuds (the currently offered earbuds are not very good) all of it in the exact same design. I think Motorola nailed it with this device but making this little improvements will make this earphones the best of the market.

Not great with iPod touch

Pros: Sound quality was a little flst untill I enabled the SRS option. After that it was very bass heavy. The fit was good on my large head.

Cons: I have an iPot touch that has os 3. I expected that the bluetooth functions of the Ipod would match up with the s9-HD. The fast forward, pause and rewind DO NOT work unless you use the included dongle. Even at that the connections drops all the time

Only one word "Outstanding"

Pros: The sound quality is amazing.
It connected to my iPhone without any issue.

Cons: I could see where it might be somewhat uncomfortable to someone with a large head.

Review: I had the previous version of this headset (the non-HD version) for over two years. I used the headset for 8+ hours every day and it just recently gave out (the usb socket wore out). So I decided to get the HD version and I couldn't be happier. The sound quality is better than any other headset I have ever heard (bluetooth or otherwise). The HD version also fits much better and does a much better job of blocking outside noise.

Cons: It does not work if you sweat a lot, I have returned one and the second I cannot return Motorola wont answer my calls, emails and faxes .These units are useless if you want to use them for sports, The control buttons do not work after one month.

Worst "connectivity" known to man

Pros: Lightweight. Great sound (when not cutting out)

Cons: cuts out when you enter the outdoors. This is a show stopper for me.

Review: If you plan on taking these headphones outdoors, DO NOT BUY. Not sure what the problem is, but I can take my headphones outside and the stereo cuts out like a skipping CD, but go back inside and it's all good. I have held the cell phone that is transmitting the music as close as 3 inches (while outside) to make the signal not cut out. I thought this is a design problem with my Blackberry Storm. No, it does the exact same thing with my son's LG ENV Touch. Motorola Support was not good at all. "Did you try this on another phone" ... Yes. ok, let me look at my knowledge ba.... CLICK. hang up.

Products function buttons will fail after moderate use.

Pros: product has good sound and is lightweight

Cons: I had to return my s9 6 times (yes, no exageration) under warranty, and this was with normal use in the gym, no abuse of any kind. Each time motorola replaced it with a new one, every new device failed the same way.

Review: product has good sound and clever design but even after complaining to Motorola customer relations because of the constant failures, they simply don't care and I was tired of paying the shipping costs to send them back, after several shipments back to motorola, you can actually buy a new pair with the money spent. Dont buy this headset unless you seldom have need to change the volume or advance or skip songs on your ipod, it positively will stop working after dozens of uses of the buttons.

Walking, running, and work out no problems

Pros: The sound is great I use with my Omnia i9810.

Cons: The rubber cover for the micro usb port for charging

Review: The rubber cover for the micro usb port cannot put in back easily. Most uncomfortable thing for this headset is I cannot lie down my head on the armed chair or sofa, I have to adjust the headset somehow or I have to stay at upright position. I think my head is a bit small for this headset, they should have different size or it should be adjustable. I think it is not for the people who wear glasses.

Useless product! Don't sweat or expect customer support

Pros: IF they worked, they would be very convenient for using with an active lifestyle (gym, bicycle, jogging, etc) ... too bad you can't do those things with these headphones

Cons: You can't sweat at all in them!! Any mild sweating causes the buttons to not work.
ear buds are not very comfortable
Customer support is poor!

Review: After the first use my headset went bad - sound/button problem. I used them when working out and like so many complaints I found after doing a google search, only the volume down button worked. Plus, my charge was only lasting 1 hour. I tried using the headphones a few more times but it is pretty pointless to use them when the sounds is so low that you need complete silence all around you to hear anything.
I tried using mine in the gym and when bicycling.
Evidently, you can't let any sweat get on the headphones, or the buttons go bad. Do a google search to see how many complaints there are about these headphones. Plus, see the YouTube video which shows one recommended work-around by spraying the headphones with hairspray before using, in order to creat a type of protective sealant against any form of perspiration.
Additionally, Motorola support is pretty useless. After making it through the voice-activated call-screening system I received "help" from a tech who really didn't seem very keen in helping me. My problem is that I bought my headsets when back home in the US, but I live and work overseas. Motorola, for being an international company, does not provide INTERNATIONAL support!!!! When I repeatedly asked to speak with his supervisor, he refused and said they have no supervisors available. After the 5th request to speak with a supervisor I gave up on that idea. He finally relented from my insistence and told me that they will ship me a replacement product to a relative's address in the US (great... now I have to wait until December to have my second pair break within a few days!!).
I will repeat the refrain of so many others. DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT and avoid the hassles of dealing with poor product quality and poor support.
By the way, in my google search I came across so many complaints of people replacing these headphones between 3 and 13(!!!!) times!!!!

S9-HD A big Step up from its older Model S9

Pros: Great Bass, Best i heard for Bluetooth
Makes great use of the SRS effects in songs unlike the older S9
Slight light design. Good for light - medium outdoor activities.
Water Resistant, everything is sealed up to protect from rain

Cons: **Box lists Apple as one of its supported models, But Fails to mention next/previous track not supported by any Current OS (3.0)
Position of where you hold your phone will determine interference AKA skips
**Price should be $99 like the older S9**

Review: I upgraded from S9 to S9-HD Sadly Both next track buttons on either one work on Iphone with OS 3.0, But everything else dose.
Amazing sound, Great Bass, Nice slim Design just like the normal S9, 6 hour Battery could be a little better, but very workable

Although the S9-HD should be $99 like the older S9 which its Replacing (S9 is discontinued now) i paied the full 129.99 CND at Futureshop, and have no complaints other then the lack of Iphone track skipping support. Which has nothing to do with the headphones itself

very good, would reccomend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pros: very good reception, have no issues with cutting out like other reviews, very lightweight, look good, sound great!!! love the ipod adaptor and the case. good battery life also!!

Cons: a little uncomftrable to me after extended use (like 1.5 houss), but might be the way my ears are :p

Review: works great with my ipod touch 2g running 3.0 with built in bluetooth, i was able to get about 10-15 yards away from it at least in my house, all while the signal is going through 2 walls and other random stuff.

i also like how the charge time is relatively short!!!!

my pair of them work great with my razr v3 and ipod touch 2g on 3.0, i would definatly reccomend to a friend!!!!! dont listen to all the cutting out crap, they work great

Hurt Like Hell!!"

Pros: Sound great look great

Cons: Pinch your ears

Review: These headphones sound great in both calling and listening to music.. On the other hand they pinch your ears horribly... At first u notice it's a bit snug then a half hour later you have to get them off your head! I really wanted to like these headphones because they sounded great and looked great but i just couldn't stand how uncomfortable they were.. I wish CNET wouldn't be so diplomatic in their reviews by saying "may be unwieldy for an active lifestyle." Just say they hurt like hell when worn for a long time is that too much to ask.

Great sound quality for music & calls.

Pros: The sound quality on this headset was great, especially for the price. Great job with music - especially using the SRS Wow settings. Can really hear the bass and doesn't sound at all tinny. Good sound on calls too. Easy to use controls.

Cons: Only problem I have is the fit. I have kind of a small head so the earbuds don't quite sit in my ears like they should. But it's workable, so I'm fine. I would not use these for working out, though. They just don't feel that stable.

Review: Very good bluetooth stereo headset, especially for the price. Works well with iPod, though doesn't skip to next track or previous track like it should (I think that might be an iPod thing. Call quality is very good as is the sound quality listening to music. Good bass and does not at all sound tinny. Comparable to my Bose in-hear headphones, but bluetooth, so much better. If possible, try them on before you buy. They may not work for everyone and they are NOT adjustable.

Great if not sweating or riding a bike

Pros: Ear bud design
Stereo
Sound (when it works)

Cons: Bluetooth transmitter
Volumen buttons freeze and erroneously change up & down
Sweat/water seeps under protective cover

Review: This must not have been field tested properly. These are terrible, I've spent almost what I paid for them in shipping expenses for warranty replacement and still having the same problems.

DO NOT BUY THESE based on expert reviews they haven't used them like we do to know.

Amazing for the people who aren't picky

Pros: Great sound, Great call qulity, Easy conect, just great.

Cons: nothing really just dont sweat to much just to be safe and dont block the connection.

Review: If you want some great sounding bluetooth headphones that can call people then get these, but make sure your ears dont sweat to much, it hasn't happen to me but some still say sweat makes it malfuncton.

A great headset, with great sound, good connectivity

Pros: Unlike the CNet review, I had no trouble with stability of the headset while jogging. The sound quality is such an improvement over my original S9, and rivals wired headphones everywhere except in bass. Excellent bluetooth connction to my HTC Touch.

Cons: While bass is much better than in the original S9, the earpieces still are external to the ear, limiting the bass response. My experience with Bluetooth is that it is a little TOO sensitive, picking up other people's cell phones!

Review: This is an amazingly good and convenient headset. I have had absolutely wonderful results with my HTC Touch, and with my Samsung P3 media player. Great sound quality, very good connectivity, and very good comfort and stability when wearing it. Much better than any stereo headset I have tried.

Improved reliability over S9. Stereo phone calls.

Pros: Stereo audio for phone calls and richer, deeper bass as compared to S9. I have used these for the past month and they already have outlasted my S9's - double the lifespan!

Cons: Same as before and noted elsewhere; comfort could be an issue especially if you have long hair.

Review: Stereo audio for phone calls and richer, deeper bass as compared to S9. I have used these for the past month and they already have outlasted my S9's - double the life. I had 3 S9's prior to this and each failed and was returned to Motorola - the controls stopped working twice and audio output failed on one unit. So far this unit continues to rock and roll - fingers crossed. All control buttons are now raised which is easier to depress but slightly more difficult to distinguish the controls. You have to remember where you fingers are in order to hit the right button. Since my experience with 3 of the previous models of S9's, I avoid sweaty situations, which is ironic since it is these environments which the S9 series was supposedly able to perform in. The S9 I owned, all three of them, started to malfunction when exposed to sweat, loss of audio and controls. So with this one, I avoid sweat. I pair it with my AT&T Tilt - pairing issues I can say are related to this phone; such as failure to pair, requiring re-bonding. These issues are not experienced when paired to my HP iPaq 6515. Battery life is about 5 hours of continuous play. If you have been burned by the Motorola S9 and have doubts about upgrading to this S9 HD, I would ask you to keep an open mind because so far, the reliability of this model surpasses that of the S9 - hell, phone calls are in stereo now!

Best wireless headphones

Pros: Great sound quality and easy connectivity. It paired really well with both my Sprint Instinct and my Ipod touch. I would highly recommend this for anyone who is looking to get rid of those annoying headphones with wires that tangle up or break.

Cons: Fit wise, it took some getting used too, but other than that no cons on this product at all.

a very good sounding wireless headset

Pros: found this product to have very good sound in low and mid level decibles and connection to ipod via adapter was a breeze. love the wireless at the gym no worry of catching a wireon equipment or your arm.

Cons: noticed at very loud decibles the bass of what was the crystal clear sound starts to distort the quality even if bass is lowered in ipod settings. also some issues applying headset to pc's (xp ok vista not that simple)

Review: i would purchase this item again for the simple fact it puts you wireless with mp3's quite easily if bluetooth compatible or as with ipod via the adapter. a downside i found was vista. vista was quite a task. after searching many forums on my issue it became clear that not to many people were quite sure what the problem could be. turns out it's vista's compatability of bluetooth connections to hands free headsets not the product itself but is still a downfall in my eyes. i successfully connected to my xp laptop after a simple free download from dell for bluetooth driver upgrade but had difficulties still with vista untill downloadng bluesoleil. finally all works well. i love the freedom of wireless, now i just need a faster charge (2 hours) or a longer battery life (typically 5 to 6 hours)
