The Nokia BH-200 is the latest in a slew of new Bluetooth headsets that Nokia released this year. We saw it first at CES in January alongside the Nokia BH-800, but unlike the BH-800, the BH-200 is definitely meant for the budget-minded mainstream. Its main advantages are easy-to-use controls and a very affordable price--only $55 retail.

At first glance, the design of the BH-200 may appear a little awkward. It has two horn-shaped ear loops on the top that curve toward the back, unlike most headsets, which have only one ear loop. In practice, however, we found that this design works really well. The two loops are rubberized and quite flexible and are meant to fit snugly behind the ear. Because it's symmetrical, you can use the headset on either ear without having to adjust it.

The body is moderately sized (2 by 1.75 by 0.5 inches) and lightweight, thanks to its plastic shell. It's mostly black with a thin silver multifunction button in the middle. On the left spine is the volume rocker, while the right spine is home to the charger jack and a very tiny power button. We found the buttons easy enough to press, but their skinny and minuscule size may be difficult for larger fingers to use. On the back of the headset is a small indicator light on the top that flashes green when the power is on, as well as the earpiece, which rests gently against the ear.

We tested the Nokia BH-200 with the T-Mobile Sidekick 3 and were able to pair the headset with the phone without any hassle. Although we had to turn up the volume quite a bit, call quality was great from our end. Callers reported that we sounded faded, so we had to speak up a little louder than usual. Other features of the headset, aside from answering and ending calls, are rejecting calls, redialing, voice dialing, call mute, and switching the call between the phone and the headset. Rated talk time for the BH-200 is five hours and 30 minutes, while the standby time is six days.

I love this bluetooth

Pros: I have had this bluetooth for 2 years now & love it. I have gone through many other bluetooths & none compare to this one. reception is great, I can walk around my house without taking the phone. I'm looking to buying another one for second phone

Cons: only comes in one color.

Review: Once I adjusted the over the ear piece I can wear this thing all day and forget I have it on. Holds a charge for 2 to 3 days and peeps to let you know it is going to die. I can leave my phone in my purse and go about my business. I just wish it had different color because I carry 2 phones.

I expected better from Nokia

Pros: light weight

Cons: bad audio and uncomfortable after a while

Review: At first I found this unit had a comfortable and light-weight fit, but after about 2 or 3 hours it actually became painful, so I had to remove it.

Everybody I spoke with reported that I sounded distant, faint, and muffled.

From Nokia I expected better than this piece of cheap and nasty trash.

good design; poor performance

Pros: comfortable, wireless, easy to set up and use

Cons: feedback, person being called hears their voice/talking

Review: Sound quality should be the number one criteria when making a phone device. So often, it's not. This goes for the BH-200. Good design, but poor sound quality. The person being called gets feedback on their end by hearing what they have said. I would guess the speaker and the microphone are too close together (?). Even on sale, it's crap.

Good fit but bad volume

Pros: Great fit, Snug and comfortable

Cons: Microphone is too quiet

Review: Callers can't hear me talking and complain that I sound distant.

I am disappointed as the Nokia equipment has gotten great reviews - both from CNET and users. For some reason, I did NOT work for me and when testing my wife's Motorola with my phone, it worked perfect. Guess I'll have to switch brands.

A good buy when found on sale

Pros: pretty good quality

Cons: fragile ear loops

Review: Although the unit performs well, the ear loops are somewhat fragile. It is more comfortable than many other units, though.

But if you weaken the loops from constant flexing, you find that you can't get replacements loops even though they are just held on by a single screw. Nokia will not send replacements and insists that only their technicians are capable of replacing them.

This would result in your losing the unit for a substantial amount of time; probably resulting in your looking elsewhere for a replacment headset.

1st bluetooth headset

Pros: tiny, light, easy to use

Cons: have to speak louder than usual, has hard time understanding voice commands in noisy environments

Review: This is my first bluetooth headset I have tried. I am very happy with it, it feels very stable on your ear like it won't fall off, controls are easy to use, no problem pairing it with my phone and it's very light, at one point I forgot I was still wearing it. The only problem I have with it is that you have to speak a little louder than usual, people on the other end tell me that I am fading out, but once I spoke louder it was ok. Also, I don't know if it was just me, but in noiser places, it sometimes got the voice commands incorrect. But overall, for the $16 that I paid for it, I am very satisfied.

Easy on the ear(s)

Pros: Fits easily, light, good buttons

Cons: A little difficult to carry in pocket (sticks out)

Review: I have had this headset (my 4th) after plantronics explorer, nokia hs4w, bh800. This headset fits easily on the ear. You can keep it aside when not talking and when you receive a call, can easily put it on either ear. Has good sound quality. Does not hrt your ear if you wear it for a long time. Not heavy. And the rubber hook is real comfortable to sport. I rate thie the best among my former headsets.
Should be a little careful when you place it in your pocket, as the rubber hook tends to get bent when pressed.

Cool Product.

Pros: The battery life time is really awesome.

Cons: Too sensitive mic, Can even pick air disturbances.

Review: I bought this product for $9.99 at best buy. First time when I bought it it was freezed and Even I was not able to turn it off. I got the article replace at the local best buy. It has very sleek design and looks like a crab. The power button is too small and the volume button which is like a joystick , The volume settings can be easily disturbed. It is worth to buy in some kind of deals or if you end up in paying $59.99 better go for some high end products.

Very good headset

Pros: Simple to use, good sound quality

Cons: A bit uncomfortable

Review: I may be a bit bias, after all I bought this headset onsale for $10 at best buy, but it is a good headset overall. the sound quality is good, though I use it mostly in the car and inside my house. It is a bit uncomfortable when I wear it more than an hour or two. The headset has 2 buttons (talk/end and power) and a volume rocker. I like that the headset is rechargeable for the price even retail.
