"A good college try, but ultimately falls short"
Pros: Sliding boom mike, lightweight, stylish
Cons: Confusing controls, won't stay connected to phone, poor sound volume
Summary: After a thorough search for a boom mike bluetooth headset, I was initially thrilled when I saw this one. After reading the inadequate an confusing owner's manual, it took me 20 minutes to get a connection with my cell phone, a Treo 650. Unfortunately that connection didn't last, and I found myself having to reset both the phone and Treo to get it to "find" the headset again, although it only works some of the time. Additionally, the speaker isn't loud enough even with the volume all the way up. The "ergonomic" clip for the ear works, but you have to pry it open and wiggle it in to put it on.
I called Nokia and (after 45 min on hold) was told that they aren't yet selling this in the US (I bought it in Virginia at Best Buy last week, despite it not being sold in the US) and he didn't know why the cell phone connection was dropping. Although this is a Bluetooth 2.0 headset, it should be fully backwards compatible with a Bluetooth 1.1 Treo.
Overall I'm going to have to take this back, unfortunately.

Even though the head set is backward compatable the version of Bluetooth deployed in the 650 is the weak link and unstable. I work for a carrier and one of our reps has become an expert on the bluetooth headsets. The 650 version required the headset and Treo to be on the same side of the body to be effective at all. The bluetooth version on any Smart Device/PDA should be a conderation and anything less than the 2.0 iteration is a challenge.
