"Good try but flawed design" on by aalsop

    Pros: Lightwieght

Cons: Slow to recognize, frequent problems

Summary: I have had the 650 wireless headset for 2 weeks now and have just sent it back for an exchange in hopes that my problems are related to a bum unit. I like the product with exception of the following:
    1. When I have the phone on one side of my body and the headset on the other I get a "clicking" and severe static.
    2. Similarly when I am using the phone/headset around my computer no matter how far or close the two are apart I get the same clicking/static.
    3. Frequently I would turn the phone and the headset on and the phone and/or headset would not recognize the other was there. The only solution I could figure out was to go through the pairing process again and again.
    4. There is a light on the power button of the headset that flashes indicating the headset is now on. The problem is the light is under your thumb while your pressing the button so you can’t see it.
    5. When making or receiving a call the headset/phone will take 2-3 seconds to make the connection with the other forcing me to frequently apologize for why I am not there on in-bound calls.
I like the unit but to be quite honest the only feature that I find of any value that has to do with it being “Treo 650 unit” is that it shares the same charger. Otherwise I wish I had bought one of the highly rated Motorola units (and may just do that if the one I get in return doesn’t solve the problems I was having).

    Updated
I got the exchanged and with exception of number 3 above all the same things are happening. I thought it was possibly my Treo 650 smartphone but I paired the new headset with a friends Treo 650 and got the exact same results. I am dissatisfied with this unit and would not recommend it.

"Great fit for the Treo 650" on by dharum

Pros: Easy setup, good audio, charger that works for phone

Cons: Feels a little loose on the ear.

Summary: I read the other reviews and decided to try it for my Treo 650. The complaints about audio either don't apply to my unit or Palm ONe has fixed the low volume issue. Mine works great even on the train. Setup was a breeze and it is a great money saver to have an extra charger for my phone (one at work and one at home). So far so good.

"Clear in all conditions, light & comfy, easy to set-up and use" on by PJA

Pros: So light you don't know it's there, extra comfy because it doesn't touch the inner ear, great button layout, clear sound in all conditions, great battery life, super-simple set up with the Treo 650

Cons: Could have a little more volume, sometimes feels like its loose on your ear (even though its not), Treo 650 has no voice-dialing, high list-price, gathers a lot of 'Star Trek' jokes

Summary: This headset is really wonderful:
I suffer from sensitivity in the inner ear, that causes even earbuds to cause discomfort after 20 minutes. I also dislike having a wire going near my throat. The design of the Treo Bluetooth headset is such that the earpiece 'floats' just outside the inner ear without ever touching it. HOWEVER...due to the angling and quality of the earpiece speaker, I hear conversations fine...even when driving in my convertible with the top down.
pa1mOne did a great job: setting it up with the Treo 650 couldn't be more simple, nor could the actual operation of the headset. The buttons are large, and set far enough apart that you don't have to 'feel' for the right one when a call is coming in. The device is so light, and so adjustable, that I don't even know its there...even on a 2-hour drive, or long conference call in a lobby, train or terminal.
Bottom line: if you have a Treo 650, and want a slam-dunk bluetooth solution, look no further. HOWEVER...please look further then p1's website to buy it. The list price of almost $80 is silly, and it can be found for much less online.

"Does what is says it does. Nice and light, too." on by gregorysreid

Pros: Nice loud volume, simple and easy to use. Very comfortable.

Cons: Lots of static, can't do voice dial

Summary: I have used this BT headphone for about 2 weeks with my Treo 650. Results have been as good or better than with another Motorla BT headset I have. Only complaints that I have (which have nothing to do with the headset) are:

    1) The Treo 650 phone still uses the old BT 1.1 standard, so around wireless networks or computers, lots of static. I am forced to use a wired headset on my Treo 650 when I am at home. On the road, this thing works fine. I guess the headset is BT 1.1 and 1.2, but it takes '2' to tango.

2)The Treo 650 doesn't allow you to do all of the features that this BT headset that it can do with other BT-enabled phones, like voice-dial.

Nice feature is that it shares the same charging adaptor as the Treo 650. Some one actually had a brain on that one.

I like the headset and the issues that I have had have nothing to do with it, but are related to the Treo 650 phone.

"Clear Sound at both ends, Comfortable and Light" on by girisriniv1

Pros: Light, Very Clear Sound, Good Volume with Ear Gel

Cons: Slightly loose on the ear without the Gel, No Vibrate Feature

Summary: I just got myself this Treo Headset for my Treo 650 phone. I think this is by far the best headset for the 650. I did extensive research and read 100's of reviews. I also tried the Scala 500, Moto 500 and a Plantronics Model. None of them come close the clarity of this one. I found the fit a little loose on the ear all by itself. But it was perfect when I put it with the Jabra Ear Gel. It paired very easiliy within seconds. There were no statics as in other headsets. I have not tried going too far with it away from the phone. If you have the 650, I recommend this headset.
