  • "Plantronics Voyager Pro + is an excellent performer!"
    on by ArizonaUser2

Pros Rugged and functional. This model has survived hard-floor drops, extreme operating temps, 18 hr days of usage and sweaty ears and still maintains excellent audio quality.

Cons Ear buds do get soiled, so make sure that you keep a supply of the right size available if you are a power user....

Summary The Plantronics Voyager Pro + is an excellent product and is a true reflection of Plantronics ability to offer a great product with great features. But discount buyers beware! There are some factory outlet sites (with Plantronics and FactoryOutlet in their titles) selling "brand new" units in "new, unopened package" but they ship apparently used/refurbed items with strange markings/writing on them in zip-lock bags and claim brand new. The old adage, "You get what you pay for" is certainly true. Best to call sellers directly and ask them about exactly what you are getting shipped to you...

  • "NOT Iphone 4 compatible"
    on by Southcyde

Pros Works well for online gaming & comfort less nerdy looking than most btooths

Cons HAS MASSIVE PROBLEMS WITH PAIRING IPHONE 4.
If it does pair it drops the pair within minutes. Trying today for an hour connects but wont pair followed instructions to a "T". Checked iphone settings, plugged, unplugged, disc my connection to game. nothing

Summary This is a MANUF/DESIGN issue, & despite n obscene amount of supporting evidence Plaintronics prefers to alienae these customers for life instead of doing the right thing and replacing wit compatible model or refunding money. I feel like they stole from me. Check the internet- page aftervpage same problem. Better Business Bureau is next if this isnot resolved in some fair way.. I dont keep receipts lets hope they dont use that as an excuse to get out of resolving this. I think best buy keeps them on record w/ card

  • "Good Bluetooth headset"
    on by TRock1967

Pros Doesn't lose connection with phone. Good sound quality for price.

Cons The foam cover for the earpiece falls off...

Summary I would not buy another one, unless they can improve the foam cushion on the earpiece. Using the Bluetooth without the foam earpiece is very uncomfortable.

  • "Great headset! Read below if you are an iPhone user."
    on by JMFarnsworth

Pros Comfort (even though it is big).
Noise/wind reduction is excellent (better than Blueant Q2 or Jawbone Icone/ERA).
    A2DP streaming.

Cons Look is professional but boring. Design needs to be updated to a more modern appearance.
No caller ID announce (name or number).

Summary I have used just about every headset on the market, and this is one of the best.

For those users that are experiencing issues with notifications and the iPhone 4, please be aware that this is not a defect with the headset. This problem will occur with any A2DP equipped headset (Blueant Q2, Jawbone, etc). Apple has designed their device to route all sounds through the headset and not the handset with A2DP enabled. The only exception to this is the ringer. Hopefully Apple will give us the option to customize this configuration with a future firmware update (i.e. ability to route sounds through headset and handset simultaneously, or just handset or headset, etc.).

For now, the only solution is to jailbreak the phone and install BTPS (bluetooth profile selector). This will enable you to turn off A2DP, which will route sounds through the handset.

    Updated on Jul 5, 2011

Update: BTPS will no longer work with IOS firmware 4.3 and above. http://blog.ramondeklein.nl/index.php/2009/10/04/btps/

As of now, there is no way to turn off A2DP on the iPhone unless the headset supports the feature. See the Jawbone ERA if you need to turn off A2DP.
