"Best on-ear set under 120$ for the hardcore gamer."

Pros

- Great Sound Quality
- Convenient Clip for Mic Mute Toggle and Volume Adjustment
- Great Blue LED Aesthetics
- Lightweight design reduces neck fatigue over those marathon sessions
- Doesn't clamp onto your skull causing ear discomfort

Cons

- Corded Cable frays with extensive use especially in places if (like me) you use the clip on another wire
- LED only vibrant when looking from certain angles

I've owned this headset for upwards of a year and it is still running great. The excellent sound quality is comparable to any other headset I've owned in this price range from producers like Sennheiser and Logitech. Playing LoL with my team I have found the Mic toggle and volume adjusts on the clip more than a little helpful on multiple occasions. Add in the fact that someone like myself, whose played both WoW and LoL professionally (4 time gladiator, and 2100 ELO jungler) and plays gaming sessions as long as 18+ hours at times the lightweight design of this headset doesn't wear on you AT ALL. It doesn't over stress your ears which was my main contention with my last headset nor does it weigh down you're neck. Toss in the fact that it comes coupled with the infamous Razer look and you've got yourself one hell of a semi-budget headset. I'm replacing mine currently not because it isn't good enough but I can just afford better now. Buy it, you won't be disappointed and you won't find a better on-ear headset till you crack the 120$+ range.

"Good headset but take care."

3.5 stars  | on by Katan_Lorilie

Pros

Fantastic Design, mic is better than Barracuda.
Long cord, the clothes clip is handy, and no drivers to install.
There is also the undeniable cool factor you get when you turn on the blue LED lights.

Cons

Careful to get the right one that fits your head. Might have to buy online
Sound quality is no where near that of the Barracuda.
Comfort level may deteriorate over the duration of wear. But make sure you have
the right size.

If you are a casual gamer, a few sessions of Counterstrike here, a couple of Unreal Tournaments there, this should be the perfect thing for you. However, if you are going to be using them for long gaming sessions, like MMORPG's or lan party marathons, I would wait a little bit and get the Razer Megalodon as it will be the microphone from this headset and the sound quality and comfort from the Barracuda, so it will be the best of both worlds. Not to mention a far more intuitive system that will allow you to know when the microphone is on mute.

"Great Headset!"

Pros

Great sound, rich basses and trebles, good quality microphone

Cons

Microphone is not powered by the USB cable

A very good headset, well deserving of what I've heard of the Razer name. While I haven't had the opportunity to test it with gaming, music and videos sound very lively and vibrant, and very close to life-like. They are also quite powerful, and you're able to take them up to where it's clear even if you're about 5 feet away from the headphones without any distortion. The microphone is very clear too, although I don't know how much it noise cancels, as I'm usually in quieter environments. There are only two gripes I have with it: one, that it isn't a USB headset, despite the USB connector; and two: failing the first one, that the USB connector doesn't power the microphone either. The USB cable is simply for power to the LEDs in the headphone earpieces and on the volume control. As I found out when the microphone wouldn't work with my Mac, then figured out that the line-in port is just that: it's not a microphone port, so it's not powered. If you have a port specifically for a microphone however, I have nothing against the top-notch performance of this headset and would recommend it someone in a heartbeat. Very comfortable too!
