"A great bluetooth"
Pros: The pros of this unit are that it fits comfortably over the ear and nothing goes into your ear canal. May be worn either on the left or right ear. Hearing conversation over the phone is really great,
Cons: The cons is that the caller may hear themselves. When calling my girlfriend, she said that she could hear herself and a scratching noise. She didn't mind the echo, but the scratching noise is irritati
Summary: I've been always looking online for a bluetooth that may be better then the one I've had (Jabra JX-10). This particular bluetooth has caught my eye for the past month and now I finally have it and wanted to make an extensive review on it too.
I got my titanium Sennheiser VMX 100 from ebay with the winning bid of $55 and added $9 to shipping cost. If you plan to do the same, good luck, I haven?t seen any other sellers selling their VMX 100 for below $100.
The Sennheiser VMX 100 appearance may be compared to Plantronics Voyager 510SL. In terms of price however, the VMX is way cheaper. Anyway, according to the manual, the first charge should be 4 hours, then 2.5 to fully charge. There is no paring button, paring is done when it's turned on then you must search for it. A concern of mines was that anyone may be able to search for this particular bluetooth and pair their mobile phone to it, but there's a restore factory settings which should undo any unwanted parings.
Compared to my original bluetooth (jabra jx-10), the VMX 100 does exceed in comfort and sound quality. In durability however, I have dropped by Jabra JX-10 multiple times and it does no damage to the bluetooth. I don't know how the durability is on this, but overall, I'd say the VMX-100 seems far better then my jabra jx-10. I haven?t tested customer service, but I don?t think I?ll need to with this unit. Obviously there will be ware and tare, even so I?ll be happy to either buy this again or keep searching for one which seems as if it could be better then this.
A concern you may think of is if this is adjustable to any size ear. I?ve measured my ear and it came out to about 5cm. The measurement of the gap of the top and bottom of the VMX-100 is also about 5cm. I?ve tried imagining how adjustable this is to smaller or bigger ears, it does seem like it would be, but honestly I have no clue.
You may read this and see that the cons seem like there are more then the pros. It seems like it, but the pro?s really do out weigh the cons in my opinion. The bottom line is that if you are looking for a good Bluetooth and willing to spend from about $80 to $120 for it, I?d say this is the Bluetooth for you. If you wanted to spend more for an even greater quality, I?d say go for the Sennheiser BW900 and make sure to create a review on it, or the platronics Voyager 510SL. If you plan to spend less, I?d go check out the reviews on the Jawbone, Jabra, and the platronics.
