"Great for just listening to music."
Pros: Good sound quality, easy to pair, stylish.
Cons: Microphone position, asymmetrical cord design, charger base.
Summary: The Sony BT10CX was on my Xmas list so I've had it for about 5 months now and I've been quite pleased. For the time being, I use the headset in conjunction with Jabra A120s Bluetooth adaptor/transmitter in the office so that I'm not corded to the computer. I do plan on using the headset when I find a smartphone to my liking.
The sound quality is quite good. I'm no audiophile but the bass is rich but not overpowering and the rest of the range comes in pretty clearly. It's nice having a volume rocker on the receiver as well. The earbuds fit snugly, as it comes with 3 different sized earbud covers, and they provide decent noise isolation.
Unfortunately, I have not used the headset yet with my cell phone because I use just a "regular" single ear headset, so I can't comment on call quality. I can foresee the headset being a little combersome because the microphone is on the receiver instead of on the cord. So you'd have to clip on the receiver (clip is attached) onto your shirt close to your mouth. The mic is also on the side of the receiver so it's positioned perfectly when attached to men's button down shirts, but might not be for women's shirts (I think they button opposite of men's? thus reversing the clip on direction).
I also find that the asymmetric cord to be unnecessary since I attach the receiver on a central location of my shirt. If there was a mic on the cord, then the asymmetric design would be merited.
The headset also comes with a charging base, which would probably be inconvenient if I didn't use the headset solely at the office. It has a proprietary connection, and as far as I know, there is no travel/car charger available. On the upside, the battery life is very good. I leave it on and sync'd all day long (~8-10 hours); the transmitter I use is the limiting factor as it runs out of juice before the headset does.
Again, this is a great sounding stereo bluetooth headset that is probably best suited if you're planning on using it for music rather than voice. Pairing with a transmitter or cell phone is very simple and the device is rather stylish.
