"Good fit, sound quality. Noise reduction undetectable."
on by Dr_EdPros Lightweight, good fit. Excellent sound quality. Dedicated power switch is nice. Holster for carrying unit in the pocket is really nice.
Cons Noise reduction is worse than zero. Tech savy callers claim background noise is far worse with the Sound ID than with the iPhone alone. Unit occasionally has trouble keeping connection with phone, so voice keeps saying "Disconnected--Connected"
Summary This unit is comfortable to wear and has great sound quality when used in a quiet environment. The voice prompts are well thought out. Voice dialing is very good in a quiet environment, but even a little background noise throws the voice dialing on my iPhone into a tailspin, causing it to dial contacts whose names are not even remotely like what I spoke. When contacted about the lack of any detectable noise reduction, Customer Service recommended that I download and install the latest firmware, which I did. This caused no improvement. My callers cannot understand me when there is any background noise or wind--even a little. Consequently, I cannot use the unit in airports, in stores, outdoors, and often even in a moving vehicle. You know, the places where you usually wnat to use a bluetooth headset. I have owned several models of Jawbone, two models by Plantronics, and a Motorola. All performed better in noisy environments than the Sound ID.

"It was a Christmas gift - so far I'm very pleased."
on by jetstewPros The sound quality both in and out is great. I especially like the noise canceling feature. My Jabra bluetooth was good but people always complained about the background noise.
Cons The only con I have found so far is that the bluetooth seems to really drain my iPhone battery quickly. I will have to learn to turn it off unless I am using it.
Summary Bottom line is it seems to be all that the AT&T sales person said it was. It fits very snugly in my ear; the sound quality is very clear; the connection is quick; I enjoy the Ear Piece app that I have installed on my iPhone, it helps to really customize the 510 for your own personal taste. Like I said, the only drawback that I have seen so far is that it appears to really drain my iPhone battery, then again, I do tend to have a couple of friends that I talk to "at length". If there is a solution for that I would really love to know.

"Love it, fits great, sounds great and highly recommend!"
on by raideragentPros Great fit, sounds great, neat Iphone app, love it.
Cons None so far.
Summary Just bought this used and refurbished, on Ebay for $32.00 shipping included. I saved $100.00 off retail! Was a bit skeptical of buying a refurbished item on Ebay but was extremely happy. Anyway, those of you having issues need to download the latest firmware. It was easy and quick. I bought a BlueAnt T1 about a month ago and never should have done so, I can't stand that thing's earbuds! The thing always felt like it was gonna come out no matter what I tried. This Sound ID 510 is snug and you can hardly tell it's even there, love it. Highly recommend.

"Worse bluetooth I have ever owned"
on by mbbs828Pros It is compact and has a cool factor when you first get it. Just wait a couple of weeks....
Cons Doesn't work with the iPhone app, but that's not completely the BT fault. It drops connection with the phone, at times the other person hears background noise more than me and it now has made everyone sound miles away. Stay away.
Summary HUGE waste of time and money. I had complaints from a couple of people regarding sound quality from day one, but that was only when I was more than 3 feet away from the phone. So, it doesn't work well with the iPhone app at all. It can't be used if you're more than arms' length away. It sporadically drops connection with the phone. Callers will at times hear more background noise than you. App requires you to reconnect the piece to the phone whenever you need to change settings, get battery info, etc. Cannot hear caller clearly. Other than that it's.. well, a unit.

"Locks-Up iPhone & Lacks Quality!"
on by rowdykgPros I am EXTREMELY particular about sound quality (and background noise) b/c I make my living on the phone. I let the AT&T sales dude talk me into the fact that it has a cool app (sounds cool at least until you install it), and it's fairly compact.
Cons Unpredictable, app would not always work to connect or tweak headset...BAAAADDD!!!
Summary Every time I powered the headset on or off, it would lockup my iphone 4.01 for about 20seconds. Noise cancellation was TERRIBLE, couldn't wait to return it and go back to the good 'ol JawBone!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!
