"make it 140.00 and ill make it 5 stars"3.5 starson by Subliminal_ghost
Pros: crisp highs, great mic sound, seperate voice volume and game volume, individual channel volume adjustment, comfort, cool look, wire length, removable mic, and easy to use and read inline volume - mic panel.
Cons: cheap wiring, customer support, speaker quality, and cheap plastic shell
Summary: after reading the other reviews i think its important to say that they have fixed the mic problem and the mic is now flexible rubber instead of plastic. the headset is super comfortable and has 2 types of ear pads - leather and cloth - you also get the same option with the head pad. definately do not have to worry about your ears hurting. the fact that you can adjust each channel individualy is super sweet. i use it with socom on ps3 and it is crazy how i can tell where people are before i can even see them. also i like that you can use it with both the 360 and ps3.people seem to say there are a lot of wires but no more than normal. its really not a big deaal plus they are super long do you dont have to worry about being stuck 2 feet from the system. if you cry about the wires buy a wireless system and lose the whole purpose of getting a headset and forget about the quality sound you can get only by having a wired system. the biggest problem i have had is with the support. my headset came with the wire frayed in 3 spots from winding then up so tight in the package i think. the wiring is for sure cheap and thin and sub par for this system. the customer support never returned my email about the frayed wires. the plastic shell also feels a little cheap and could be improved to feel a little more ridged. the tritton symbol on the ears lights up witch i super cool as far as looks go. i think overall the sound is pretty good for gaming. i would like to hear more deeper sounds from the sub though. it seems that when listening to music they just sound average. dvd's and blu ray discs sound pretty good also. i actually like using the headphones than using my surround sound system which is a great sony setup. id really like to see a more powerful speaker system used in the headset and a sub woofer that is also on top that vibrates to greater immerse the gamer. so when it comes down to it i think 140.00 would be a fair price for these. it would also be nice to have a nicer decoding box and a longer optical wire than what is included. so my final suggestion is if you have multiple gaming systems and no surround sound system go ahead and buy these. i think im going to send my set back and try the astro a40's and decide between the 2. i really liked the fact that the ax pros had actual 5.1 coming from them. but i think the quality of the speakers ruins the experience. ill chime in when i test the a40's and give a definitive answer to which is better.
