"One of the best headsets on the market for the price"
4.5 starson by scorpinock2Pros: -Surround sound
-Great speaker quality
-Two headsets can be hooked up to one amplifier box
-Works with Xbox 360, Ps3, and a surround sound equipt pc
-Durrable
-Amazing surround quality
-little, if any, sound distortion thanks to optical audio TOSLINKCons: -Does not support stereo, any device used with it must be surround sound capable
-Short optical wireSummary: This headset is amazing. I've owned it for a few days and brought it with me to gaming sessions. Works amazing. Not hard to set up just tedious. The sound quality is great but I feel as if the highs are too loud on the headphones and that can be annoying some times. Also, even though I said it, don't let the short optical cable stop you from buying it, it's not that short and the headphone cables are really long so the amplifier box can be right next to your system and you can move far easily. So far, everyone I know who owns this headset loves it too and there aren't too many like it on the market. The turtle beach version can only do analogue so therefore it's restricted to the PC and the Astro A40's are more then 50 bucks more with the only difference being higher quality sound not better surround. This headset is the way to go.
I recently tested these heaphones with 5.1 mixed music, and as a result I can say that although these headphones are amazing for games, and movie, they are NOT for music. The music sounds pretty good but when it gets too bass heavy then it starts to get some interference. If you turn down the bass it just doesnt sound right. I still hold true to this headset being the best on the market but I just felt the need to add this observation.

Updated on Jan 9, 2012After using this headset for an even longer period of time I can say that this is still the best headset I have ever owned but one small flaw I noticed while using it and I dont know if it's just my headset or all of them. The volume control box integrated in the cable gets really warm. My friend has the first revision of the AX Pros and I have the newer fix but his does not heat up after extended periods of use. This doesn't affect anything but it makes me slightly nervous as to the posibility of the box wearing out due to heat or some other issue.
