  • "Good sound with poor workmanship. Sent them back twice"

Pros: Extremely comfortable and they produce great midrange quality. They are easy to set up and the instructions are clear with a good troubleshooting section (you'll need it). Only good for movies or music...not gaming.

Cons: Poorly manufactured with the cheapest plastic parts & lousy connectors. The talk back cord will never, EVER stay locked in. They say you can hear footsteps but they must never game. Terrible for Modern Warfare as the explosions override everything

Summary: I spent over $200.00 for these and they are poorly manufactured. I had connection problems for the first week and returned them to Best Buy where they agreed that the headphones were faulty. The next pair quickly became inoperative and I sent them back to Turtle Beach when the talkback cable continually fell out. The connector is worse than what I would expect on a $39.00 pair of headphones. It does not snap into place or have a locking conector like my Creative Sound Blaster Arenas. I spent way too much time plugging and unplugging everywhere I could to get a connection. Even the "repaired" X41's did not continue to work after 30 days. I resorted to duct tape.
The sound quality can be OK but the build quality is mediocre at best and the headphones just do not capture the highs or lows that $219.00 headphones should. There is absolutely none of the nuanced sounds that I had hoped to hear when I bought them. Playing Battlefield I would sit in a corner and turn the volume up and wait for someone to approach and I never heard a footstep. In fact, you cannot hear vehicles any better than on my simple Plantronics. Turtle Beach vastly oversold their capabilities
