"Zelco is overly optimistic about the the Outi."

1.5 stars  | on by frankiejh

Pros

Mildly entertaining for a little while.

Cons

Not loud enough for me. If you turn it up the vibration just gets annoying. Pinching them slightly tighter produced better sound but who wants to hold on to them??
Went from excited to complete disappointment in about 5 minutes. Didn't work for me.

Summary

Bought it at Big Lots for $15 and felt guilty I had spent so much. If I had paid full price
I would have been furious! Fortunately the store took it back so I'm not "Outi" anything. Cool concept but not good enough for me.

I'm sure different size and shaped ears will have a different result, so some may love it and some may not. I did not. Don't know until you try.

"great for sports"

5 stars  | on by rtod2

Pros

I use these when I ski. I still get to hear the music and am aware of the sounds around me. Am able to cary on a conversation when riding up the lift without removing the earpiece. A very safe way to to ski and stay aware of you surroundings.

Cons

Longer battery life would be nice. I can get about 6 to 7 hours then needs recharging.

I wear theses under my ski helmet. I've used headphones and earbuds before but was always concerned about missing that sense of sound that you need when you have many people skiing around you. One miss call from someone coming down the hill can put you out for a year of skiing. I see a lot of kids with there headphones on with the music turned up so loud that they haven't a clue as to what is going on around them. These are the ones that can hurt you bad.

"I didn't know music tickled!"

Pros

Great sound quality and an intense tickle on my ear!

Cons

Not great for many hours of wear... I get a an ache from the clip after about 4-5 hours of wear.

I love the head phones overall! I received them for Christmas and was skeptical, but once I put them on I was amazed.
The sound that comes through is perfect (I use them with my Zune HD and my laptop). They are great for my work as I need to be able to hear the phone while sitting at my desk; my previous earphones covered my ear making hearing the phone nearly impossible! I can also still hold a conversation with others while still having the earphones on!
I find the tickling sensation of certain songs very amusing (Elvis's A Little Less Conversation and Weezer's Hash Pipe are great examples). It causes tingles all through my jaw!

There are a few quirks (I won't call them draw back) with the earphones.
1) it is slightly annoying that you have to charge them... I understand why (sort of). It's a bit inconvenient but they hold a good charge.
2) The volume adjuster/power button would have been better if it wasn't in the middle of the cord.
3) They wear well for a few hours but after about 4-5hour (I wear them all day at work)they hurt. They don't clip on hard or anything, I guess from them 'hugging' one spot for too long it causes it to be a little tender.

I would definitely recommend these (and already have)to anyone who wants a different musical experience!
