"Real Disappointment" on by DZ1262
Pros: Color screen, bluetooth, best fm tuner i've ever heard
Cons: worst aux out jack i've ever heard, call quality, unintuitive
Summary: comparing this to the drive and play 2 you quickly begin to believe that this is a bargain but sadly you get what you pay for. The user interface is slow to the point that it takes upwards of 5 seconds to respond to commands from the remote, I always get complaints from people about the sound quality when talking through bluetooth. They say it sounds like a bad echo or a buzzing noise. The aux output jack sounds horrendous to the point of sounding broken, the system is designed to be installed into the vehicle and yet it has no way to connect the machine directly to the battery. The only form of connecting it is to plug it in via the cigarette lighter. Also if you don't turn the machine off before the rest of the car it will leave the ipod hanging at now safe to disconnect screen which won't let it shut off which will kill the ipods battery. There are other gripes but by now I'm just being mean.
On the plus side the machine isn't a total loss, there are some things it does well. The fm transmitter is stupendous. Not as good as a direct connection via aux but still a hell of a lot better then any other form of fm. It does support the ability of having a wired fm transmitter, I never tested that, but honestly fm is pretty nice in the machine. The screen is gorgeous, very easy to read, handles sunlight like a champ, and does a beautiful job displaying artwork, the machine also supports stereo bluetooth with the option of the machine controlling the music from your bluetooth device if the phone supports it. I'm going to test to see if it's the mic that is bad by replacing it with a different mike since it's a standard mic jack on the machine. Still for the stock mic to be so bad is unacceptable. I cannot suggest this product to anyone. The bad outways the good in far too many ways. -
"not worth the money." on by doncoglione
Pros: screen display is excellent
Cons: blue-tooth interface very poor quality
Summary: to start off with, too many wires to connect. its a big eye sore if you don't like wires hanging all over your dash board.the blue-tooth interface is very poor in quality. hard for callers to understand your voice. take away the blue-tooth interface from this unit and reflect the price cost only to be used as an ipod controller and I would pay no more than $50. you be better off going with a custom radio with ipod functions than this unit for less money.

"Works better and does more than I expected." on by jonleet
Pros: A really good product for integrating my iPod and phone into my factory stereo for a really cheap price. Provides good iPod navigation and great hands free listening capability. iPod sound quality was fantastic once I got the unit hardwired in.
Cons: FM modulator does not produce acceptable quality sound - it needs to be hardwired in. People tell me that they have a hard time hearing me though the bluetooth adapter - but I have heard that about every hands free device I have ever used.
Summary: For $35 I am really happy with what it does and have recommended it to friends. I tried to connect the iPod through the FM modulator and was not at all happy with the sound quality, but once I wired it through the antenna splitter all my concerns about sound quality disappeared. I think the iPod navigation is a real plus and the system has a lot of configuration options. I will probably end up replacing the microphone if I can find one that makes a measurable difference.

"Good product. Makes using the iPod while driving easy." on by larrinh
Pros: The EX-10 has a bright well lit display, sound is much louder than other FM xmitters I've used. Blue tooth phone link is clear in both directions, phone audio interrupts music for call duration and voice come over the car speakers...nice feature.
Cons: Box shows FM xmit freq of 87.9MHz. Lowest available is 88.1MHz. This is misleading and a letdown. I bought this product specifically because it went to 87.9 (always a clear freq) but the signal is strong enough to overcome local broadcast signals.
Summary: Bottom line is, even though I felt like the advertising was misleading, I kept the unit because it overcame all of the shortcomings I found in other units that I tried.
