"With most phones, can't reconnect after the first time." on by MrPeteH

    Pros: Good sound.

Cons: Almost useless as a product. Must un-pair and pair again every time I enter the car.

Summary: I sure hope they fix this soon! For such an expensive unit (head unit plus BT module are hundreds of dollars... plus install time...) this is horrible.

"DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY" on by statecowboy

Pros: Sometimes works. I've tried blackberry tour, palm pre, htc evo, and samsung epic. All had same problems.

Cons: Does not connect after car turns off. First time you pair and connect a phone it works great, but as soon as I turn car off it does not reconnect. You can make and receive calls from the phone, but not from head unit.

Summary: This was a bad investment. The unit pairs and connects fine the first time, but as soon as the car turns off, next time i start car phone does not connect. This means i cant make calls from the head unit or use any of the bluetooth functionality from the head unit. The unit does pair with the phone so when i accept a call (with my phone) it will pick it up through bluetooth, but it does not connect, so the caller doesnt show, and i cant access phonebook or make call from head unit. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM AND ALPINE SUPPORT IS WORTHLESS - SERIOUSLY DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. If you look hard enough you will find a number of people experiencing the exact same problem.

"sadly another buggy/flaky product" on by turbo323

Pros: Good in theory, user interface is ok and would be good if it was reliable

Cons: Same issues as others: often need to pair/unpair, disconnect/connect, power cycle, ignition off etc. to get it to work. Tried with different phones no difference (HTC HD2, TP2 and iPhone 3GS). Tried all firmware up to 251. Alpine support useless.

Summary: avoid like the plague given the investment in terms of effort required for car audio installation.

    "Very disappointing" on by asdfadsfsadf

Pros: Sound good when its running.

Cons: Works after pairing but disconnects and does not reconnect when you turn off the car. Seems to be a pervasive problem. Reports of poor support from Alpine.

Summary: Not ready for prime time. Hoping Alpine offers solution. Id hold off buying it until you hear better things from actual users.

    "Dissapointing." on by MFMauceri

    Pros: Installation fairly simple.

Cons: It just doesn't work (especially iPhone). Bluetooth calls permanently disable music, until unit is reset. Randomly switches from Head unit USB connection to bluetooth, requiring more reconfiguring while driving. iPhone 4.0 beware!

Summary: Half-baked product; disappointing. Alpine technical support useless at best.
