Pros PRICE, SOUND QUALITY
Cons THE REMOTE IS USELESS
Summary I've been looking at similar products for awhile like SoundBridge, Linksys, etc. I went for RCA RD900W mainly because of the giveaway price (around $35). Wow,the unit is really incredible and produces a near perfect sound transmission! Previous to this I had a KIMA Wireless System which worked O.K. for internet talk radio but was flat for internet & CD music. The main con of the RCA is of course the remote. It is bulky and I cannot get it to work. Though, again that's not really much of a problem as I mostly go upstairs to my computer, set the internet radio station I want and forget trying to change channels on the fly. Moreover, even if the remote were to work there is no visual display capability on the second RCA unit by your stereo. Finally, my last minor gripe is that the unit only functions with MusicMatch Jukebox. Although, the basic service is free one is constantly pestered to buy the upgrade (don't it's not necessary). All in all, these are very minor complaints. What really counts for me is the sound and price. I didn't have to agonize over a buying decision for a product in the $35 range. If the technology improves in the future then I will probably just upgrade to something else. Yes, SoundBridge is probably better but hey I'll pocket the $200+ and take somewhat less flexibility. Folks, I love this unit. Now, I rarely listen to boring and advertisement-filled local radio stations when I can choose from all over the world. Way too cool!!!
Pros Excellent sound quality and ease of use. You do NOT need to use the MusicMatch program to send out your music to the receiver. I mainly use it to listen to streaming audio from the internet in another room. All you have to do is set the output in the au
Pros If you use MusicMatch, this might be your best choice.
Cons This piece of equipment only works with MusicMatch. IF YOU USE ITUNES, KEEP SHOPPING THIS IS NOT THE PIECE OF EQUIPTMENT FOR YOU.
Summary I have to say, I was under the impression that this this equipment would work with any music playback software I had - iTunes, in particular. When I plugged it in to my computer and stereo and opened iTunes, I found my volume disabled by the software. After spending some time on the phone with tech support, I learned that the equipment is incompatible with iTunes and there is no "patch" being developed.
Pros VERY GOOD SOUND AT A CHEAP PRICE.DOES NOT NEED DISPLAY UNLESS YOU WANT TO PAY 3 TIMES THE PRICE,WHICH THEY DO NOT TELL YOU IN THE REVUE OF THIS UNIT.
Cons COULD USE CONCERT HALL EFFECT IF YOU DO NOT HAVE IT ON YOUR COMPUTER. (DFX)
Summary CAN NOT BE BEAT FOR $100.YOU CAN PAY OVER $330 MORE FOR SOME OTHER BRAND JUST TO GET THE DISPLAY TO TELL YOU WHAT SONG ITS PLAYING OR TO SELECT THE ONE OUT OF THE BUNCH
YOU KNOW YOU SELECTED.
Pros 1)This is more like a plug and play unit, setup was fast. 2)The sound quality I get now much better than my pc speakers. 3)With the remote I can interface with Rhapsody or MusicMatch from across the room.
Cons 1)Analog output only. 2)No display, but for those of use who want audio only you don't need a display.
