"Great product and even better tech support" on by kittyworld
Pros: bluetooth, links up to 3 cells. software upgradeable, no need for landline or voip service if you have enough minutes
Cons: Can't display voicemail msg yet - but it's in the works
Summary: Bought this thing earlier this year after I dropped Vonage (not bad, but w/ my 1500 anytime minutes, why spend extra $ on another line). In the beginning it could not pair w/ my SE 800i, though it worked fine with my friend's Moto Razr. I Contacted tech support via email. They not only emailed back, but called me several times to trouble-shoot. After realizing that there was nothing I could have done to my phone, they came up w/ a patch in only a few days and everything works flawlessly since. I have looked into the more expensive Phone Labs Dock-N-Talk first (it's been around for years) but what eventually sold me to the new Xlink was its software upgradeability. This is a big plus and I am glad I got it. even if you have trouble with the product initially there will be a free fix down the road. That's not all. I suggested a new feature - to send the voice-mail-notification signal to my Panasonic phone that has msg-waiting light. This was important for me because with my cell phone constantly docked near the xLink downstairs, I rare go near it, and hence missed a number of messages until days later. The great news is that now they are working on a new software version implementing this and other features, and have asked me to test for them. I feel so spoiled, like this is a custom-designed product just for me! All this is possible because the firmware upgradeability, as well as their wonderful tech people who really try very hard to please their customers. BTW, I have several Panasonic 2.4gh phones. No problem w/ the bluetooth signal at all.
