"Major problem with overheating."
on by qhochalaPros I did a lot of research on projectors and chose this one for the specs and the price. The short throw capabilities were what I was looking for as we do a lot of presentations in small venues, but need a large image on screen. The short throw image was imp
Cons The remote control does not come with a USB cord to plug into the computer. You can use the projector menu controls, but you can't advance your presentation without purchasing an extra cord. Also there was no instruction book... just a set up pamphlet wit
Summary I have used 3 other projectors here in Bolivia and never had this problem. We do have 220 v. power here, and I am at a high altitude (over 10,000 ft), but none of the other projectors I've used have done this. At this point about my only option is to rig up some kind of small computer fan underneath it to keep the unit cool. Any other ideas would be appreciated.
I found a high altitude setting buried in the advanced menu, which work between 1,500 m and 3,000 m. (Up to about 10,000 ft). Since I changed the setting, even though I generally use it between 10,000 and 13,000 ft. altitude, I have had no more problems with overheating. I still haven't found a way to connect the computer with the projector that will allow me to advance presentation slides. The USB/USB cord I purchased didn't do the trick. The manual I downloaded didn't shed any light on it either. I would now give this projector 4 stars - gives a great image for the price!
