"Good reasonably priced 1080p projector. 7.5 rating."
Pros: Excellent 1080p reproduction and contrast levels.
Cons: black levels starts to diminish after first 100 hours of lamp time.
Summary: The w10000's 1080p resolution from HD DVD and Blu-Ray sources blew me away. I spent the first month of ownership enjoying this every night. It required little calibration and I liked the sub-menu that allowed individual RGB level adjustments. I actually found I had to keep the contrast levels lower than I expected. The colour levels are pretty true depending on source material, of course. However after the first 100 hours, the black levels went from an almost solid black to more dark grays that is typical dlp's of the past. Especially when the dark-chip technology is a major selling point of this unit. I am going to experiment with a new lamp to see if that is indeed the case. Good to have a back-up lamp on hand anyway.

What did you find out about the dark levels after further use. What is your overall opinion after you have lived with it for awhile. I am considering the newer W20000.
Thanks,
John
