"This projector is everything and more than I expected."5.0 starson by crotchrider
Pros: The blacks are deep, the detail is sharp and well defined, and the set-up was 'apple-pie' easy. This unit has to be the value champion in this segment! I would have to see a 'superior' model side-by-side to see the difference. it's hard to imagine.
Cons: I'm honestly trying, but I can't think of a single one. This is a little unfair since I have nothing to compare it to other than my old 470p Sony 3-gun, and no contest there!
Summary: If you have any thought about 'trading-up', I would suggest that you look no further. For the overall performance, this unit is a winner, even at more than twice the price. Again, I haven't seen it along side another competitor to give it a fair and impartial assessment, but to my eyes, it would be hard to imagine. To say that I am delighted with the unit would be an understatement. It was a cinch to set up. it is quiet. Even with no sound coming from the speakers, the sound of the fan is barely audible, and only if you **** your ear towards it [it is located about 5' above my head when seated]. I'm sure that it will be long, long time before i will want to upgrade from this baby. Do I think that the new Samsung SP-A900B fathered by Joe Kane is 2,3 or 4 times better than this one? Hardly. If the Samsung is judged to be even 20% better [and I sincerely doubt it...], it is $12,000; 4 times the cost of the Epson!!
I hope that i will be this elated in four or so years from now. I expect to be.
