Cnet your review made me afraid because of black level rating but my basement has controlled lighting and when viewing hi-def content with blacker than blacks and greyscale, I was sold. The sony pearl was my first choice until compared with the color display and with the low lamp it produced a great "film-like" quality which reminded me of a good quality theater. My advice to any buyer is to compare. My projector was professionally installed and only cost about $3500.00 not counting the installation. This makes me content until something "new" comes along but Mitsubishi is headed in the right direction for consumers. Price, quality and ease of use. Thank you for your critical "eyes" and salient reviews which encourage persons to "see" for themselves what is available in the marketplace.

This costed me $3,300 through a local "home theater" dealer
who installed it in my completely dark but lighting controlled 14' by 25" custom built "home theater" and works great! Using professionals take away the guessing pains of calibrations especially when integrating RF and motorized controls. Although reviewed low for black levels my "dark room" with blu-ray player gives me great black level and great colors with a 1080p display on a 92" motorized screen. Well worth adding to your shopping list!
