"Great value. Good performance." on by Rev. Don

Pros: Good lumens & contrast. Great value at $999

Cons: Weak 2.5 watt speaker. Remote control should be illuminated.

Summary: Purchased for church use: Sunday School, Worship and Adult Classes. Working wonderfully in all settings. Very pleased with our investment.

"Great for business!" on by ashparkcity1

Pros: Light and Portable, easy to set up and sync

    Cons: none I have found

Summary: I bought this for business, presentations in front of small groups. The quality of the picture was surprisingly bright and clear.

Haven't yet tried it for home theater. I already have a HyDef TV.

"1 year of faithful service and still grinning!!!" on by cmbakeremj

Pros: Picture quality, compatibility, ease of use.

Cons: Price of bulb, but only a necessary evil.

Summary: I have had this unit for officially one full year now and have had no problems. This unit is a dedicated HTPC monitor. It handles 1080i/p content, regular computer content without complaint and picture quality maintains top notch. This unit has caused me to purchase more hardware and push it to the limit. Games, television, internet, HDTV, DVD's all look mind blowing on a very good quality screen. Make sure to use at least the s-video hook-up. Analog VGA is decent, DVI is the best to view any digital content. Expect numerous movie parties at your house if you happen to make this unit your centerpiece for a home theater pc. Currently I have a 64bit pc with all the tuners, dvd players, video cards, high speed internet hooked up to it. Including a HD satellite tuner, analog hookup for my notebook.
I would highly recommend this unit for anyone in the market to purchase a computer with any type of media capabilities.

    Updated
Still grinning, all digital media that has been thrown at this projector comes through as crisp and clear as the day I bought it. Now by far ahead of the digital tv curve, I have hosted numerous events. Still lovin the Optoma, recommend this unit to everyone.

"great for the money" on by LelandHendrix

Pros: good brightness and contrast ratio, decent remote.
Setting all controls for 'user' profile to the middle and using a 1.0 gain white screen yielded ACCURATE video right out of the included padded case.

Cons: when changing modes, resolution or MHz, it rolls through possible input sources taking > 8 seconds to return to computer view.
whites can be wAAAY overblown, requiringadjustment in the menu called 'white peaking' needs to be dialed down to 5 or less.

Summary: Good for road warrior, and semi-videophile use in home theater even when light present in the room.

"Awesome multi-function quality" on by katwomanofsteele

Pros: super high contrast, super high lumens and can do 16:9 what more could u ask 4?

Cons: a (mini)dvi connector would have been nice to include - no upgradable short-throw lens available

Summary: I have a new intel macbook I take with this lil' 4lb power packed projector to do impromptu film fests and biz presentations. Under relatively bright conditions (film lighting set up in the same room), this still put out a viewable image - even on a wall not a screen. This is one of the best investments in tech I have made - cannot be beat it for the price - and I think it even puts out better than the higher priced models 3x the price. The only complaint I had was more about my macbook because it doesnt have rgb connectors, I had trouble finding the very specific mini-dvi connector (CompUSA and the Apple store apparently were the only stores in the Southwest Ohio region that had it).
