"Color Modes - the reviewer may have misunderstood & sought Rec709 in a mode other than Color 1?"
Pros: Great looking projector! Who'da thought this was LCD?!.
Cons: Instruction booklet could be clearer
Summary: The "Poor" ratings for (HDTV) red & green may be due to the inadvertent use of the "Color 2" mode during the test. This mode (DCDM) pushes the green up toward the co-ordinates that are reported here.
To clarify the Picture Modes (pg 31 in the Ops manual)...
Color 1 - HDTV ITU-R BT.709 is the target chromaticity in this mode.
Color 2 - Digital Cinema DCDM (SMPTE431-2) is the target chromaticity in this mode.
Cinema 1 ~ 3 - The "Hollywood" modes. Collaboration with colorists, DPs, etc. Filmlike, but subjective.
