Pros Superb Image Quality. Extremely Large Number of Adjustment Options. Extremely Easy to Operate and Adjust. Extremely Quiet Operation.
Cons It would be helpful to have a fine-tuning option for the focus control.
Summary I have had this projector for two weeks now and I can find nothing I dislike. Even the "Con" I mention (about the focus control) is very minor as focusing is still easy and accurate.
The image produced is fantastic. It is difficult to find words which describe what I am seeing on the screen.
In addition I have never seen a product such as this with the range of adjustment options and the ease of accessing them. I was able to make many changes without even reading the instruction manual!
An advantage offered on this projector is that all - and I mean all - of the controls and adjustments are available on the projector itself. Therefore, if you lose or damage the remote control, it is no major catastrophe.
Yet, as all the adjustments are available on the remote too, it is very convenient to use that. You need only point the remote at the screen and the projector will respond.
I formerly used a SharpVision XV-S250ZU which I purchased in 1992 and which has given me excellent service for the past 17 years. Unfortunately its panels are deteriorating and replacing them would be very costly. This is why I investigated and ultimately purchased this one.
It is FAR more advanced than that SharpVision yet priced far lower than that projector was when it was new. (LCD projectors have come a long way since they were introduced in 1989.)
I have posted a lengthy review on Amazon if anyone is interested in reading it.
I think that, especially at its low price (and I don't know how they can offer it for $1999), this projector is a wonderful buy.
I give it my highest recommendation.
I purchased mine from VisualApex and I give that company my highest recommendation also.

Summary Don't get me wrong the projector is AWSOME great picture quality and this is my first Panasonic & projector experience, usually I`m royal customer to SONY. ONLY thing is REAL AWFUL makes me hate this projector and Panasonic company.. Is customer service/Tech support! I just bought this projector arrived around x-mas I called many times to Panasonic Tech support and customer service, CAN NOT find anyone support this projector,They transfer me to this guy and that guy,put me on hold alots times and put me on hold again for long minutes to read PJ manual some where ,thats thing i can do myself, Then they took my phone number 100times to someone calls me back and NEVER gets any calls back from anyone, because they don't know S. About the PJ & NOT trained whatsoever & not really any supports for thire projectors line up!, STILL waiting for calls then again same old paste over & over .. have the same issues is NOT resolved for almost 3 weeks now!!!
Just BEWARE U don't get any "SUPPORT" from Panasonic when u buy this PJ, U are on your Owen to figure it out and have questions !! Only things they knows is about thire TVS & DVD players!!.if I knew about this MESS.. i would NEVER buy Panasonic and stick with my good old SONY products an supports! This is my first and last of panasonic
Pros Good projector while it lasts
Cons Replacement lamps are garbage
Panasonic does not honor warranties
Summary I had a good experience with the PT-AE3000U projector for about 15 months as the picture was good.
After 1800 hours of time on the original lamp, I purchased a replacement lamp March 2010 from MWave.com and it failed 2 months later after only 225 hours. I noticed that when I originally installed it and fine tuned it, the picture was much darker and the blacks were washed out compared to the original lamp.
When it failed so soon, I contacted MWave about replacing it as it was supposed to have a 90 day warranty (still says it on the web site as of 5/13/2010). They claimed they only supported products for 30 days and that I had to go Panasonic for the further 60 day support. Panasonic said it's up to the dealer (MWave) to provide the replacement lamp. I got both parties on a conference call and all they did was to say to each other "No, it's your responsibility". So MWave and Panasonic couldn't figure out between 2 massive companies how to resolve the issue and have put the customer at the disadvantage.
Both have lost a customer for life. I had ordered many times from MWave in the past but I don't trust them nor Panasonic any more.
