I purchased this model after seeing it at Sam’s club (purchased at Best Buy after they matched the price) side by side with another model there was no comparison between the two as far as 1) size 2) picture quality. So far I love this thing--I move it between 2 rooms so it’s like having a movie theater anywhere. The picture quality at about 12 feet is better (a LOT better) than my old rear projection TV at 5 feet (no “rainbow effect” either). I would love to see it projected on a screen because it looks so good on painted walls (even a purple one!)
It is easy to operate and controls are very intuitive. In my opinion watching movies or any other video source looks best in “game” mode as opposed to “cinema” or “normal” second best is “presentation” mode. Although I don’t have any other projectors to compare this too I highly recommend the XR-1X.
