Really good deal.by faisalmy - August 23, 2006
Pros: Impressive outward appearance, combined with good features on the inside
Cons: None so far
Review: I've used this projector for a week now and I will have to rate it 9/10. This serves my purpose of viewing sharp movie images, with good contrast and colour. In a dark room, the 1200 LUMEN lamp does quite a job, and delivers stunning images. I will definitely recommend this projector for anyone looking in this price range. The HDMI-input is a good feature to have, and I played a HD DVD at 720p resolution(thats the maximum this projector can support). I felt it gives a pretty clean and sharp image. So far, there have been no problems.

Pros: It's look great and sharp images
Cons: The lamp burned out after 90 days
Review: I bought this product last year for about $2,600.00 dollar. It work really good and I was happy with it until now. The lamp burned out after used for 3 months so i called for the warranty and i found out that the warranty cover for only 90 days. I don't option but to buy a new Lamp. So i bought a new Lamp that cost me $350.00 dollar, now after 2 months of used the lamp burned out AGAIN. so i called again for warranty and they told me that lamps are not cover.
i will never buy this product again. Now i am looking for a replacement. Does anyone can recomend a better product than SONY.

Sony VPL-HS51 Not Worth the Moneyby Navyman636 - December 15, 2005
Pros: When it works it is looks fine
Cons: The lamp ($300.00) burns out quickly and they do not keep any in stock
Review: I recently purchased the Sony VPL-HS51 at a cost of over $3,700 about 8 weeks ago. After about the 7th week the Lamp burned out and since it was still under warranty I called the Warranty Department and they informed me that it would be a week before a new lamp could be sent because they are on back order (so obviously there is some sort of problem with this item). I called after the one week and was told that it would be another week and a half. After contacting the Warranty Dept, then they referred me to the Parts Department and back and forth for several hours I got nowhere. I then tried to find the Corporate Office telephone number in New York to file a complaint and again I ran into not being able to find a number, then when I did find one (Through the BBB) I was not able to talk to a human being other than a receptionist who seemed to be as frustrated as I was that we could not talk to a human being. In a nut shell I would NOT recommend this product until Sony can get the lamp issue under control and has a better grip on their Warranty and Parts Department.

Huge, beautiful screen.by - January 10, 2005
Pros: I'm a home-theater novice and I easily made an awesome-looking 156" screen on my wall. The image is unbeleivable!
Cons: Only goes up to 1080i (not 1080p) but it still looks like a movie-theater.
