"The projector that keeps on sucking money"
Pros: Easy setup, good picture
Cons: Really loud, expensive lamps that burn out quickly, manufacturing defects
Summary: If you get this piece of equipment be prepared to keep on going into your bank account to keep it running. The lamp is supposed to have a 4000 hour lifetime. My first lamp burnt out after about 1500 hours, the second lamp around 2000 hours. The most frustrating thing is that after about 6 months of use, a dark band started to creep in from the left side of the picture. This was a defect that could only be repaired in their facility in Kentucky. So be prepared to be without for at least a week to 10 days. The first time this happened the machine was in warrenty. The second time it happened (about a year later) InFocus would not stand behind their product and it would cost 300 bucks to fix. Add on to that the cost of a new lamp (another 300 bucks) and it's going to cost me 600 dollars just to get it up and running again!!! I've only had this piece of crap for a couple of years and I've nearly paid as much to keep in in lamps and repairs as I paid for it in the first place (about 1200 dollars).
I like the machine in general, and I'm going to miss having the huge picture on my wall, but I just can't justify continuing to pay for the InFocus CEO's golf trips just to keep the dang thing running.
Don't buy this -- and don't support InFocus. If they don't stand behind their products, then they don't deserve your money.

wow...I have over 3000 on my first bulb. Maybe because I use the low setting ans clean the bulb filter once a month. Could also be that I leave it cool down overnite....ater watching tv all night I just go to shut down and go to bed. I turn it off in the am. I too have the light eng quit..band on one side. but it was replaced under warrenty. There is a fix if you have small enough hands to reinstall the mirror assy...but not me. I was very upset about not having the 130" pic on the wall as you were, but i am happy now!!
