"as good as its reputation"
Pros: sounds great, progressive scan dvd, sleek design
Cons: 5.1 system, limited hook-ups, sub kinda big
Summary: Wow, this system upholds the hk name. I was a little concern buying this product since it has very little reviews in the net. However, first time I heard this system played in the store damn it hits me. It sounds very clear. I couldn't hear that base noise that is usually there in cheaper systems. I even compared it with the Sony davfx100w and that system was outmatched and it was more expensive too. I really did my research and I was saw a lot of good reviews for the Onkyo ht-s780. I listened to it in the store but the sound wasn't as good as this one.
My only problem with this product is that it has a very limited hook-ups. It only has 1 component video, optical and coaxial. It wasted my extra component cable. Oh well, it was all worth it.
The installation time was not that long. However, I had to buy better speaker and subwoofer cables. The cables that came with it is low grade. Overall, all Im after is the sound quality. I got the best quality with this one for the price I can afford. ($1000 CAD came with a pair of HK stands, Energy sub cable, 16awg speaker wire)
