"Excelent value" on by NanuNanu14
Pros: Easy setup, compact, menus are easy to navigate, comparatively inexpensive
Cons: touch panel doesn't work like it should
Summary: After buying this, I went home and set it up. 30 minutes later, after figuring out where the speakers should go, I was going through the menus calibrating the speakers the way I wanted them.
It was easy to set up and fit in the space I had set up for it.
The price at the store was around $300. Similar units sold for $700-800.
If you don't have a lot of space or money to spend on a HTIB, this is one you should look out for. -
"NO 1080i Call and ask LG." on by jfnorri
Pros: The sound is okay. The experts say if you want something better than your TV speakers than it is a thumbs up. I agree with them but like i said dont waste your time.
Cons: The main unit over heats about half way into a movie. This is not a 1080i. it is an up converter. I called LG 12.13.09 at 10:30 and they explained not 1080i.
Summary: Even with HDMI no dice. This is a horrible design and low end technology. Customer service first tried to blame it on my TV. I used it with a Sony Bravia LCD, and Samsung LCD. This is a low end sound system. If you don't believe me on the 1080i call LG support.

"Good Sound; horrendous design" on by aldridgester
Pros: standard sound was good, nice subwoofer
Cons: Terrible design. User displays on top of unit. Other sudio inputs on back of sub-woofer. "Virtual" surround sound was horrible. Menues were way to complicated/inconvenient.
Summary: Please read the other reviews carefully...they are politely telling you to not buy this unit. Ours also malfunctioned after 6 months (dvd's stuck, cd's even stuck, even first play ones). A perfect excuse to relegate it to the kid's room.

"Not Worth the Price Tag" on by moon2197
Pros: Attractive design, Loud
Cons: Confusing, Unusally difficult for simple tasks
Summary: I found this system to provide realitively good sound though awkward menus make it difficult to just pop in a cd and press play. It also takes (what seems like) an eternity to load. The volume tends to be touchy and control over sound options seems to make little effect. Bottom line is for a basic sound system it is by far too complicated and obnoxious to enjoy for quick and easy use.

"Good for the Bedroom" on by landry_p2000
Pros: The compact design and upconversion via hdmi sold me. I also found the piano black finish attractive and this system sounds good without an overwhelming amount of speakers. Make regular dvds shine.
Cons: Kind of difficult to operate at first, alot of buttons on the remote, and touch pad is not responsive as it should be, but I never use it anyway.
Summary: This system was purchased for bedroom duty, and so far it has served me well. Also, it is something that my wife enjoys with the am/fm tuner for music, and it also keeps her from messing with the PS3. :)
