Definitely Recommend Purchasing This Unit
Pros: Excellent Sound Quality, Sleek Modern Design, State of the Art Features, Ipod Dock, Ease of Use
Cons: Start Up Time (when turning on device) is a little delayed. Would be nicer if wireless.
Review: I am unsure of why a certain individual was so biased in his review, but I can honestly say that this is a very nice set up. I am a huge music/movie ethusiast and I am impressed. I paid almost 800 new when I purchased this unit. It has excellent sound quality. It was easy to set up out of the box as well. I have had this unit for almost 2 years now and have nothing but great things to say about it to this day. I can assure you that I do not work for LG nor am I deaf. Apparently, this certain individual is technologically inept. Plus he needs to learn how to talk to women. Futhermore, if you want my opinion, I am with the other guys when i say that this is an excellent product. LG keep up the great work.

The Best. Period!
Pros: great look, great sound, awesome picture (as with any bu ray product), extremely great brand (LG rocks)!

Review: First off, i do consider myself an audio expert considering that I have worked at bose designing audio receivers. First off, I was a little nervous to buy a product by LG because they are more of an appliances company, and I was just blown away with the LHB977. Since I no longer work at bose, I can honestly say this sounds better than many of their products and it is a lot cheaper than the bose system. I was also nervous because, this is as of now, an online only product (which means you can't buy it in actual stores) and I could not listen to it before i bought it. But, because of the excellent reviews, I decided to go for it. I bought it from a website called newegg.com and i got it in 4 days with free shipping. I plugged it in and mounted the speakers in under an hour. I hooked up my sons xbox to the hdmi component and my comcast cable box. I have a 60 inch panasonic lcd tv and as soon as i hit the on button for the first time and hears the xbox in action me and my son were shocked. He is 14 and even he could appreciate the sheer power it produced. Every movement of the video game character was heard so realistically and later I watched the departed on blu ray and at the final shoot-out scene in end of the movie. I went outside to test the loudness of the sound and placed my hand at the end of the driveway and thought there was a gang fight in the distance. The other good thing is that it doesn't get so, so, so loud where you neighborhood complains about you to the cops. (don't get me wrong thought, this baby gets LOUD!) I love the ipod dock too. When ever I load up new songs, I take it to the dock to experience the songs on a whole new level. I am a hip-hop and rock fan and when those songs get going, so does that sub. It shakes the room and vibrates you're body just like it should. Another great addition is that you can have netflix, youtube, pandora and many more internet features for free or with an existing membership. I always rent movies form netflix straight to my tv now, i love it! Also, when you plug the ipod in, you can see all the songs,playlists, artists, etc. on you're TV and it can all be controlled with you're remote. Bose dosen't even have ipod docks! I am truly impressed with LG, some of their electronics aren't the best, but I (a 27 year employee at Bose) can say this is not one of them! Whether you're watching a crystal clear blu ray movie or listening to you're ipod, this LG product exceeds beyond expectations!

Do yourself a favor don"t
Pros: Looks just great. Oh, are those tweeters?? No they are fakes!!
Cons: In my 58 years I have never seen such a sham. The marketing pieces on this unit intimate there is wireless, none. Fake tweeters!!! That is symbolic of way they do business. Talk about, "let the buyer beware". I will NEVER buy another LG product, ever
Review: First unit went back to Amazon (they are awesome), second unit looses sync when watching Blu-ray. The "customer service is a total sham. When I asked SEVERAL of their "customer service" reps what a tweeter is, they had no idea. They say they are located in Alabama, but all had accents and couldn't tell me the weather. LOL what a rip off company. Note the following transcript from an online attempt at information. BTW, no way the reviews are anything but LG people or deaf people.

Great ALL Around System
Pros: Love the Features and the Sound is Awesome...
Cons: Setup goes along great until you want each device to see and talk to the other then it's a bit tricky...
Review: I would suggests purchasing it to anyone who wants a great system at a decent price...

Great product
Pros: Great sound for the price
Easy to set up
2 hdmi inputs + streaming Netflix
Cons: Nothing of significance
Bluray takes longer to load than dvd, but this product is faster than others I have tested.
Review: This is a great deal. I have an xbox360 and an hd dvr connected along with streaming Netflix. Great sound from every source plus a bluray player. I thought about getting a wireless kit for the rear speakers, but I really don't need it.

Thought I was in an Imax theater.
Pros: Lots of inputs. Good looking. Easy to use. Netflix. Individual speaker volume a breeze to set. I spent the time taking distance measurements to where I usually sit and the LHB977 calculated all of the delays for me.
Cons: No seperate bass boost. Rear speakers can't be wall mounted.
Review: After a simple fifteen minute setup (Love those HDMI's) I was up and running. Was a bit unhappy to find out that the only way to enhance the bass was through the many different sound options that LG provides and not a seperate option. Raising the subwoofer volume sort of fixed that. Then it came time for a Blu Ray disc and a movie from Netflix and man, was I blown away!!!! FANTASTIC. Any problems with the bass being to low were instantly erased. I have it paired with a fifty inch Samsung Plasma tv and the picture was as good as it can get. I am one happy camper.

Best value for those seeking blu-ray and HD audio
Pros: Exceptional picture and very good sound quality. Pandora and streaming Netflix are a must have; Youtube is nice as well. The flip-out ipod dock is a nice feature and it looks cool.
The tall boys are stylish and they deliver solid mids to highs.
Cons: None really, this system is all you would ever expect for less that $600. The remote could be backlit but now I am just trying to find something negative to say.
Review: For an out-the-door price of $548, the LG LHB977 is a great blu-ray theatre system. I have mine hooked up to a 46" Sony Bravia W series in my living room. I used the Rocketfish wireless rear speaker kit ($109) to transmit to the rear speakers and concealed all of the wires leading to the tall boys and sub with a kit I purchased at Best Buy for $20. The installation was quick and painless and the complete cost less than $690. This system has 2 HDMI inputs and a single HDMI output along with a host of other inputs including video for you ipod, etc. The FM radio gets better reception than either of my vehicles and the station preset/tune controls are very easy to use. All of the controls are user friendly and the layout of the remote makes sense. I hooked up to the internet using the output from my DTV HD box. Pandora and Netflix are very easy to setup as the LHB977 provides on-screen instructions and codes. Netflix movies stream flawlessly with minimal load times. Also, I would like to say that I was skeptical of the subwoofers ability to deliver robust sound since it does not require an independent power source but the subwoofer far exceeded my expectations. This is a well balanced mid-range theatre system in a box that comes with an exceptional blu-ray player.

I eventually just cancelled the order; the customer service I received was the worst of any online retailer I have dealt with. I ended up buying the LHB977 from Amazon for less and the item shipped the next day.
