"HDMI port stopped working after 9 months" on by imageblock

    Pros: This thing is cheap.

    Cons: This thing is cheap.

Summary: As soon as I got it home the middle speaker started to cut out. I got that one replaced and it only took a few months for the rest of the system to fall apart. The dvd changer became erratic sometimes working sometimes not and finally the hdmi port stopped working al together. Now LG wants me to pay $69 to fix it. Give me a break LG.

"DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON LG!" on by CentralOhioan

Pros: Umm, it worked--for about 5 months.

Cons: After paying $300 for it, the audio stopped working less than six months after purchase--it cost another $69 to repair, and then LG sent it back without the remote. Customer service said they never received it. WILL NEVER buy LG again!

Summary: Bought this home theater set-up after recommendation from a Best Buy salesman. The sound was adequate but nothing great, but the audio completely stopped working less than 6 months after purchase. Sent it back to LG for repair for another $69 after the Geek Squad guy (who was very nice) said he couldn't fix it. Received it back from LG repair, but this time without remote. Called customer service and they lied and said they never received it. DON'T BUY LG!

"This product is not a good buy" on by ShellyWW

    Pros: Cheap price

Cons: audio features quit working after a couple of months

Summary: I bought my unit in Sep 07 and began noticing problems in Dec. where the sound would cut in and out while in the Aux mode (makes like a popping noise accompanied with a beep sometimes before the sound cuts out and comes back on). I purchased an optics cable on the advice of the service tech and that didn't help the problem either (same results). The unique thing is that when I play DVD's there is no sound problem at all and all the speakers work (this is not so when in Aux or Optical mode; all speakers but rear work). Per the service tech it's going to cost $69 to fix the problem. My advice is spend a little more money for a bigger name with a better warranty.

"Do Not buy!!!!!!!!" on by giles16

    Pros: Price was good

Cons: Stopped working in 3 1/2 months. Bad customer service

Summary: We purcased this in Oct. for our Christmas. We do not watch movies too often. After watching 3 movies the surround sound no longer works. The music CD's, radio tuner and USB no longer work. Be prepared to pay more than $100.00 to repair. This product is only 3 1/2 months old and LG is not willing to repair without us paying for shipping and all labor cost. At the same time we purchased a LG plasma TV. So far it is still working good. After finding out about LG's customer service (we took this all the way to corp.) I will never buy another LG product.

    Updated
Three days after my post LG emailed me. They are now agreeing to pay the shipping cost. Total cost for repair $69.00 labor. Though the price was good I would consider spending an extra $69.00 and buy a better model. $69.00 is about 1/3 of the cost of what we paid for it new (about 4 months ago). Read your warranty close!
