Great System For The Money
Pros: Price, Expandable

I just purchased this HTIB for under $300. I'm certainly no audiophile, so keep that in mind, but the sound is great.
Set-up certainly wasn't as easy as I thought it would be when I first made the purchase, however, I'm a virgin when it comes to hooking up and understanding how to run audio/visual equipment. All of the speaker wires are colored coated for easy install and a map is provided that illustrates all of the basic connections, however, the corresponding written directions could have been a bit more clear and there were no directions on how to hook-up my DVD/VCR player which made life a bit more difficult. After placing a call to Onkyo's support number, my problems were solved within minutes.
Like I said previously, the sound is great. I just finished watching a football game and was amazed at the clarity of what I heard. The back speakers and sub-woofer really made a huge difference in the viewing experience. I truly didn't expect the system to make that much of a difference, but it did.
One of the best things about the Onkyo is that it is basically a component system. I can add other equipment as time goes on and I don't have to worry about replacing a speaker or upgrading the bass in the future. Other HTIB systems, especially those that come with a DVD player integrated into the receiver, cannot boast that claim.
The only negative about the SR-600 is that there are no HDMI ports, In or Out. This would have made set-up easier. Also, the speaker wire is only 22 gauge.
