Manufacturer description
Use of a highly rigid bamboo material in the center speaker helps achieve an extremely pure, clean sound. A Kelton Subwoofer system with a dual diameter structure delivers a deep, powerful bass. Whisper-Mode Surround allows you to enjoy rich surround sound even when watching movies at low volume. Panasonic DVD home theater products feature a 1080p up-conversion function that converts standard definition images from DVD sources to high definition images. These up-converted signals draw out the maximum performance of an HDMI compatible 1080p HDTV, giving you vivid, sharp and exceptionally detailed high-resolution images to enjoy. With the included Wireless Kit for Rear Speakers, no cables means no clutter. You can also expand your music listening into three additional rooms with the wireless multi-room speaker kit (sold separately). Play your favorite music from your home theater's built-in hard drive in your living room and listen to it in your bedroom, in the den, or even in the garage. The built-in Universal Dock for iPod gives you a great way to enjoy music and video. Just slip your iPod into the cradle and enjoy. The dock charges your iPod, allows you to use the home theater remote to control the iPod, has on-screen audio menus, and also plays back iPod video. The enhanced Viera link displays a menu on the TV screen, making it easier to operate your connected home theater system. For example, you can display a menu with a list of the movies or music stored on your iPod, and use the Viera remote control unit to select one and begin playback.User opinions

Hissing from left/right and center speakers...
Pros: - Great sound for watching dvd/blu-rays!
- Sub puts out an awesome thump but hard to adjust to receive a proper level through settings 1-2-3...
- Easy wiring setup
Cons: - Horrible buzz/static sound on front left/right and center speakers.
- Volume was either to load or to quiet to hear.
Buzzing and static from the 3 front speakers which never changes volume no matter what the system volume is at. It really upset me when I bought the system for the quality. Never could get it fixed and it seemed like it was a common problem. http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1073252
Great wireless speakers but doesn't outway the buzzing.
I will be sending the system back and searching for something better.

Very nice sound quality and package for the price
Pros: good sound and video-easy setup-reasonably priced
Cons: remote is too"busy" and not enough inputs on receiver
It has very good video and sound and most all parameters are adjustable. It just needs more input capabitity 1 HDMI and 1 optical audio is not sufficient. But if you can manage with that-this is a great system.
I have used it for a month now and beleive that movies (rather then CD's) is it's forte.

Surprising sound, simple set-up, great results
Pros: Fantastic 5.1 sound for the price
Cons: Instructions could be more detailed
I bought this system along with a Panasonic plasma in a bundle, and was a bit skeptical about how it was going to sound. I was especially concerned about reports I read online that he wireless surround speakers either didn’t work well, or generated a hiss. In my experience, they work flawlessly.
Setup was quick, although I had to rely on simple logic rather than the instruction manual to answer some questions I had about what went where regarding cabling. I called Panasonic customer support twice, but hung up in frustration both times after lengthy waiting periods. You’d think a company the size of Panasonic would provide a better customer service experience.
Using HDMI from the DVD player to the TV, and digital optical audio in from the TV produces stunning results. The DVD player/receiver offers a ton of audio options and the default settings are just fine in almost all cases.
All in all, I was very pleasantly surprised by the sound of this system, and can’t see spending more than this unless you want to go full-on audiophile gear. I paid $450 at Best Buy in April 2008.
I'm rating it "perfect" for my uses and because it performs exactly the way it's supposed to.
