Summary This overall is a great HTIB. Hopefully firmware updates thru the ethernet port on this system (or by dvdrw) will allow for an update to current blu-ray version. Is this even possible?btw the picture that cnet has is not the correct pic...here's a link to one of the few sites that has the proper pic...

Pros picture and sound quality are good
Cons does not play all blue ray dvd's. a number of blu ray dvd's won't play or only play sound. Loaded firmware and still have the same problems.
Summary I will be returning this system and purchase one that is more up to date so all the blu ray disks will be able to be played.
Pros Sound quality
Ease of use/setup
"All in one" functionality
2 optical inputs
1 RCA input
Cons No HDMI input
Summary This is an excellent system. Many people that write reviews here have discussed having an experience that revolved around the inability to play discs, and bad customer support. While I do believe customer support is an important aspect of of smart shopping, I disagree with allowing that to affect how you see the product itself. That being said, I don't know why anyone would need to even contact customer support. I've had this player since late 2008, and it is now June of 2012, and it has always performed properly, and shows no signs of degradation. The speakers function flawlessly, and are very high quality. Aside from the aesthetic appeal, each speaker is endowed with quality and evidence that no corners were cut, each normal speaker weighs roughly 4 pounds, and the sub-woofer weighs almost 20. Typically, the heavier that type of object is, the better made it is, and this is no exception. The player itself works very effectively too, playing Blu-ray, DVD, and audio CD's without any trouble.
My typical use is to have surround sound for my PlayStation 3, but i have used the other features first hand as well, and have encountered no trouble.
If you're one the fence, hopefully i can push you over, because after your wallet goes into shock from the price, your ears and eyes will go into shock because of the sheer perfect quality.
I would recomend this to a friend, as well as recommending an optical cable, for clear, authentic surround sound.
Pros It might make a very pretty paperweight.
Cons Uhhh...you can't actually watch movies on this blu-ray player.
Summary Purchased from Best Buy, and it didn't work well from the beginning. Some discs would play some of the time, but overall watching a movie was a crapshoot. Eventually, it sputtered out completely, and it now no longer plays anything. Firmware updates via DVDRW are impossible, since the player won't recognize any disc that's put in. Unfortunately, we waited until 2 months after the warranty ran out to complain to Best Buy, so we're stuck with it.
Although we still occasionally use the fm receiver and the sound system, if you want to actually be able to watch movies on a home theater system, this is not the one to purchase.
I'm very disappointed...don't think I'll consider another Samsung purchase anytime soon.
Pros none maybe good pic and sound when it works
Cons lots of money for only headaches
